No no no...well, maybe?
I use it to clean my ears out.
Makes a big difference once a month.
10 bux and 20 minutes.

On a serious note, how well does it work? I've got some pressure on my left ear and I'm losing highs when I listen to music. I was going to go to an ear specialist but you got me thinking I could go the non high end way first.

I'm not a doctor so i can't comment on your pressure.
I have 'surfers ear' which results in higher than normal wax build up. Combined with an ear syringe this 'ear clear' works wonders.

Cheers mate,

I'll give it a go. You'll be happy to know you're the first person on the internet that I've taken medical advice from ;)

My beautiful hippy and organic loving wife made me try an ear wax candle once. Apart from singeing my listener and the awful smell it gave off it did absolutely nothing for my ailment...

My neighbour got that done in Vietnam. She perforated his eardrum. I'll pass.

I have pretty much the same thing. I saw a specialist and he said that it didn't measure much worse  that the "good" ear so it may be a perception due to the sensation for me. I dont notice  any kind of balance issues between channels.  He couldn't find anything "wrong" either. I suspect it is a long endured sinus problem as it clears up some times and comes back others. It is annoying though.

I don't want to turn this thread into an old man's medical problem session but mine did go away once when I had some antibiotics for something else. I definitely have a reduction in hearing on the left. I work in oil and gas and have it tested every time I change jobs. I've got another one coming soon.

Back on topic; My Devialet Original d' Atelier. I absolutely love how incredibly transparent that thing is. I can't wait to get a decent source and speakers.

In my short time back in Hifi the one component that just works so well with everything in our ever changing system is the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium HP Intergrated amp. It has so far beaten off all challengers and the fact that it is so easily tuneable for what ever genre of music you play on any given day by rolling the tubes from el34's right through to KT150's is such a bonus. The most impressive improvement though is had from changing out the two centre 12au7's to what ever replacement valve that works best for your ears, right now for me it's a NOS pair of French made Radiotechique 12au7's and the result in our system is just stunning.

I can imagine changing out all other parts in our system eventually but I reckon the PL will stay even if I find a better amp along the journey.

cheers Terry

It’s been just over a year since I first commented in this thread and quite a few bits of gear have come and gone in that time and the upgraded levitating PrimaLuna HP Integrated is still easily my favourite bit of all time gear in my system.

cheers Terry

Ide say putting an RB2000 on my P9 was the most satisfying but i think the most significant in terms of getting the sound i want was the addition of Consonance Cyber 800 mono tube amps, love that EL34 sound, the Rega RS5 speakers really compliment it though but i cant see myself not having tube power amps from this point forwards.

Beer.

x2 ... enough of it and even a worn out Jose Filiciano cassette on a one speaker boom box sounds fantastic.

Luxman L-30 at a bargain price and only 2 weeks ago I picked up a pair of B&W DM-630 for less than 2 cartons of beer.

Also the others that are just given to me. Must have something to do with my looks lol
