Item: Rega Duet speaker cable 100MSP with Audioquest AQ-BAN300TRS – BFA Banana Pl
      Location: North Melbourne 3051
      Price: 150
Item Condition: Good except two connectors not working
Payment Method: Pickup or shipping at your cost
      Extra Info:
I’m going to sell my whole system. This includes North Star DAC32, Rega Elicit amplifier, Rega Couple 2 interconnects, Rega Duet speaker cable 100MSP with Audioquest AQ-BAN300TRS – BFA Banana Plug, and Sonus Faber speakers (currently the speakers are not for sale until other items are sold out). I have spent much effort to make up this balanced system during the past year. The sound is not that “modern” but very enjoyable. I think you know I mean if you have an experience with Rega, North Star or Sonus Faber instrument. However, after I moved to North Melbourne which is closer to my workplace, the small bedroom and apartment environment do not allow me to enjoy this system any longer. Also, in the near future I will need to work until late evening. So, this system must go.

Here for sale are the Rega Duet speaker cable 100MSP with Audioquest AQ-BAN300TRS – BFA Banana Plug

If you are using a Rega amplifier, you should use it together with Rega’s best cables. The speaker cables are three metres each, terminated with eight Audioquest connectors.
Please note that one of the eight connectors is not working so you may spend $30 fixing it at Klapp or elsewhere.

Cable+7 connectors = $150. Will show you the tax invoice. Pickup at North Melbourne or shipping at your cost.

      Item: Rega RB808 Tonearm Rewired
      Location: Redfern
      Price: $999 firm
      Item Condition: Excellent
      Reason for selling: Surplus
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Transfer Only
      Extra Info:

The original RB808 RRP $1299. This is supposedly superior sounding with new Cardas copper liz internal wires and Van de Hul cartridge clips.

This RB808 had a damaged green channel and it wasn't working. However, after posting an EOI ad last week I took the SNA members' advice and sent it to Decibel HiFi for a rewire. I have found Brian Maddern a great guy and he was a pleasure to deal with.

I told Brian that I wanted something much better than the original RB808 wires but not as expensive as the Incognito Rewire Kit. He told me that he can do the exactly same Cardas copper litz wires used in the Incognito Rewire Kit and Van den Hul 1.2 clips. (See last image for itemized invoice and the work he has done). The external RCA cables and plugs are still the Rega's original. The arm bearing, body and tubes are all in perfect shapes. The body might have 1 or 2 tiny paint chips. The screw slots for cartridge on the headshell have some heavy rubbings.

I was surprised to see Brian left the screw in the tube end (see picture). According to him, usually a plastic stub will be inserted into the added rubber moulding after a rewire, he thinks the screw will do the same job, or better. I am not technical wise so I just have to take his word for this. The new wires are thinner, they are now going through the small piece of rubber moulding and fixed in spaced out positions around the screw, instead of being held by the screw. They are longer extruded from the arm tube and seem to be a lot more flexible and easier to handle.

***Previously the channels were measuring 1.4 ohms, now 0.5 ohms. Wow, what a difference!

I currently  do not have a turntable to test the arm, but I trust Brian's work and presume the arm is now 100% working. This tonearm is sold as it, just in case it's not working due to the wires, you can always deal with Brian as he is well respected and have been highly recommended by many SNA members here. However, I am happy to deal with the body parts issues and I am confident that there won't be any.

Pick up or post at buyer's cost. No offers please.
