Think i had one of these back in 2003!!!loved it regretted selling it, i thought it was better than my Mark Levinson pre.

For those looking to jump from bland mid fi setups and wanting to try a tube preamp you will be surprised how good something like this can be. Cheap, simple and effective.

Is this the ‘basic version’ with the internal power supply? And how many tubes are involved with this pre?

You can see the mains plug. You can be pretty sure the power supply is inside it! 8)

Still, the number of tubes is a pertinent question. They came with and without the 6SN7 cathode follower board. 4 tubes without, 6 tubes with.

I'm suprised still for sale $500 for a brand name and it comes with a phono stage. Good luck with the sale. :thumb:

Hi 240v, with NO remote but the manual is here too only 5 valves

How many hours are on the current tubes? And what were your favorites or recommendations for replacing the current ones, should they need it? My main concern is the line stage in the first instance.

Tubes are old but still working.

they were replaced by Audiophile in Melbourne in 2003

 

to answer your questions about preferences, I have no idea really sorry. Nik usually sorts it out for me
