Wow, this thread is still going strong. It will be a challenge to find one hit wonders that have not been mentioned previously. Trying this one.

This was Brenda Starr's only top 20 song. According to Wiki: "During the late 1980s, Mariah Carey sang background vocals for Starr, and Starr helped Carey secure a recording contract by giving a demo tape of hers to Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola at a party." The rest was history. "In 1998, Mariah Carey covered the song as a tribute to her "mentrix."

Electric Youth is a Canadian synth-pop duo. Their breakthrough song 'A Real Hero' featured in the movie "Drive" and was nominated for a 2012 MTV Movie Award in the category of "Best Music". According to Wiki "Rolling Stone declared Electric Youth one of the Ten Artists You Need To Know in 2014". While they released four studio albums, not sure they ever became really well known.

Brian Protheroe - Pinball, a 1970's hit.

There is no decent video available but this live version from 2012 is very good considering it's forty years later!

Paul Jones on harmonica, lead singer of Manfred Mann
