New ride month old done few kms on it so far. Awesome bike compared to my Canyon cf slx ultimate. Well the Canyon seat stayed snapped clean off. Clipped by an other cyclist.

nice! not mucking round with that bad boy. Can't tell what model, not been paying much attention these days - Sight?  has a similar design DNA to my old Flow LT (which does looks a bit Frankenstein in comparison....)

Ah nice, I remember looking at these but went for a Specialized Stumpjumper at the time (which I still have).

Yep it's a Sight A1, the top model in the alloy line. Bit on the heavy side but is very well spec'd for the price.

Yeah I can't keep up with all the new models too, handy having a 18 y/o son who is a keen rider and guides me in the right direction, most of the time!

If you're ever down the Gong way mate, shout out and I'll take you for a tour on the local trails.

Lynskey R230, 2013 model just clocked up 55,000 kms. I had to replace the chainrings last week with 30,000 kms on them so I'm not complaining.

Nice e-bike. I'm waiting for my first EV, it's been delayed because of production problems. What's the range on your Merida?

Is having an E-bike in the world of mountain biking pretty standard? All the road warriors I know pay out people who ride e bikes on the road. For my 2 cents, anything that gets you into the great outdoors has to be a good thing. The only edit I would make to that, is if there is an e-bike rider acting like they are the KOM when, if you removed the motor, they'd barely get up half the climb..  ;)

I think e-bikes for mtb make sense as I know even when fit I'm stuffed after an hour loop of our local trails. I'd often like to do a 2nd loop, and would if I had an e-motor.

Here's my off road machine prior to going 1x drivetrain and straight carbon bars. She's 9 years old now but hasn't had much riding

My Cross/commuter/gravel bike. Couldn't buy an "off the peg" disc equipped cross bike back in 2011, had to custom build it

Did the whole duallie thing and ended up back here with a Carver Ti Hardtail.
Love it and ridiculously good climber (the bike that is, me not so much!).

After arm surgery last year I really haven't got back out there but now I'm fully recovered I intend to rack up some kms this summer.

Depends what mode your in and where you are riding, on the road I can get around 90-100 Kays, on hard core trails 50-60Kays, love this bike and lots of mates have them, we have a ball out on the tracks

Damn you guys! I've been looking at e-mountain bikes for the past 12 hours now.

And it just so happens my local specialist has the entire Merida range at their shop for demo this week! :(

You've got it bad, past the point of no return now😅

Did you know that if you recharge the bike with a silver plated OFC copper cable and expensive plugs......

Go the Merida mate and trust me you won't be disappointed, my E160 900E feels like a true dirt bike and just feels right, fantastic bike and a blast to ride and is priced very sharply when compared to the opposition,

starting to see more, maybe 2 or 3 on a weekend ride over a few hour . i'm 50:50 on the idea. good for getting people out who wouldn't otherwise pursue the hobby or health concerns get in their way. like my dad who only does 15-20min with us before turning back these days.

I think technically there are illegal some forestries as they fall under motorised cycles, ie motorbikes.

I'm worried about what they will do to trail conditions as numbers grow. e-riders are going to be attracted to trail spots with more extreme elevation - you would hope so... but that extra weight coming down technical runs and to a degree that torque going up tricky trails will place more stress on trails. Enthusiastic rookies skidding the rear tyre into corners making brake bumps is bad enough as it is...

I only really care about KOM coming down and e-bikes are no threat there

Thanks. Was part of Team Merida already (first HT, and then top of the line current road bike.) though :)

I got the Green, which I am still awaiting. Though a shoulder/elbow injury thanks to a wonky ladder on the weekend might postpone the maiden voyage! :(

My Merida E160 900 is one year old tomorrow, glad I chose this bike and went the extra yards to get it, it has proven to be the most fun you can have on 2 wheels, well pushbikes as I'm a motorcyclist as well,

Here it is out on it's very first ride out where it belongs, in the bush out on the tracks
