humbug
Unfortunately I have made custom 9pin dsub connectors on all my video game consoles... so I am limited in making my own cables or having someone make custom cables for me (I don't know of anyone who does this) So I'm trying to find quality cables and connectors but unfortunately I am having trouble. Previously I have just used VGA cables and used my own connectors, however this isn't actually adequate for also transmitting Audio (I'm getting interference) I need 6 core and all individually shielded. (RGBS+LR) So can anyone recommend quality cables that are easily available that I can actually afford? I have found this but its $300!https://www.selby.com.au/origin-6-core-digital-khs340-spec-video-cable-25m-khs346.html https://www.selby.com.au/origin-scart-plug-rewireable-nc321.html Thanks in advance

humbug
Thanks, but actually now I am a little bit confused as it seems that coaxial type is used for digital? However I know they are also used for RF. I'm not so sure if a 15~31kHz RGB signal would be suitable? I understand that RGB is better suited for multi-strand due to 'skin effect' or something? Is it a case of overkill? Also these would be much less flexible and prone to breakages over the years of constant flexing? After a little more thinking outside the box... would it make more sense to just use the VGA cable for video only and run another separate shielded 2 core wire for audio and just sleeve them together? It doesn't seem as neat or fancy, easier to buy and make... Assuming there is no benefit to using coax cables running to/from my gscartsw/consoles to my upscaler... However I have heard that using a switch like this places more importance on shielding quality, and I'm not sure generic VGA cables found in the parts bin is adequate. humbug
Just stumbled across this through my googling: https://www.anixter.com/en_us/services-and-solutions/solutions/wire-and-cable/security-and-audio-and-video-cable/high-definition-coaxial-and-rgb-cable.html Looks like they have 2 types: Plenum RGB and Riser RGB... I've never heard of such a thing...? Impedance? I assumed I was just supposed to add 75 Ohm resistors on the end of the scart plug and a 470 ohm resistor on Sync on the devices output socket to reduce TTL crosstalk and to bring down to video level? (1.5v?) But after looking through the datasheets, it is saying it has a 75 Ohm impedance but inductance and capacitance varies with length... I would have thought such hich quality copper would have a much lower resistance... or am I getting resistance confused with impedance?
