This is a great way to get peace of mind if you own valve gear--just watching some of the voltage 'sags', or over-voltage spikes from the grid, at certain times, that are instantly corrected by the Thor is an education in modern standard electricity delivery (or the lack of such). Some people buy transformers for their Chinese gear--built only to 220V specs--so that they have some life after purchase in 'bad' voltage conditions.

A suburb near me is notorious for waking some residents up to the news that every electrical component in the house has been fused!  I never had any more 6550 valves 'go' in my VTL 300 monos (16 valves in total at risk) after buying the Thor...not did I notice the hash and crud in the electrical noise of the system again. Owning the Thor is far cheaper than repairing components that are 'blown' by aberrant  voltages.

Indispensable

Thanks for your interest, Rob. The power station has only rarely been plugged and used, hence the easy life comment.
