mwd
So Sky Sports are supposed to be transmitting F1 from Melbourne in 4K. Er really didn't even know that 4K TV cameras were in use here or even most of the world that hosts F1 races. http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/137167-sky-to-show-formula-1-in-4k-uhd-from-2017
miata
The Rio Olympics were 4K, some of the USPGA Golf broadcasts are also 4k. SKY UK has a 4K Channel. The Commonwealth Games will be 4K and the 2020 Oympics, will be 8K.
mwd
So who supplies the cameras ? Don't think TEN have any in their Melbourne F1 setup. Maybe it is just pseudo 4K from an upscaled HD signal as provided by the official telecaster of the event. Edited March 25, 2017 by mwd
alanh
TEN like the other most but not all of the other stations do not have outside broadcast vans anymore. They contract these program out. Some of these contractors do have UHD cameras and production facilities. eg. http://www.gearhousebroadcast.com/au/outside-broadcast Sony also makes OB vans in Newcastle NSW and they have access to UHD equipment.
