G'day,

Extra note on this Sunday morning. If you were following the Pt. Adelaide v West Coast game last night, you'll know that the scores were level at full time, then it went into two lots of Extra time, where the Eagles kicked a goal after the siren to win by 2 points

Channel 7 and GWN in W.A. have arranged to replay the full match after Gameday, that's at 11:30am AWST

I don't normally watch any AFL but my brother in law is coming over for the weekend and he is a massive Crows fan. I don't have free to air TV - I only ever watch streaming. What is the best way for me to get the game on for him to watch?

G'day Sleach,

Telstra own the streaming rights. So you can't even try Channel Seven's streaming service, they'll be showing "Border Security" Episodes on an endless loop

Because of this, the streaming service that Telstra uses is via the AFL app for phones or tablet devices. Although, it comes with a warning that the picture size has been limited to the size of an iPhone due to the "new rights agreement" (which nobody can understand)

There is a Kodi plugin that allows you to watch the Telstra stream (free if you are a Telstra customer).

G'day,

The Grand Final is here, Adelaide and Richmond have made it this far, which one will be victorious? As usual, Fox Footy are not allowed to broadcast the game live, they must wait until after Seven are done airing the main match, which seems to be 5:30pm AEST

Saturday: Adelaide v Richmond - First Bounce: 2:30pm AEST - 2pm ACST

Played At: MCG, Melbourne

LIVE To:

Tasmania including Hobart at 2pm on Southern Cross

N.T. including Darwin at 1:30pm on Southern Cross

Victoria including Melbourne at 2pm on Seven and Prime

S.A. including Adelaide at 1:30pm on Seven and Southern Cross GTS/BKN

W.A. including Perth at 12pm on Seven and GWN

A.C.T. and N.S.W. including Sydney at 2pm on Seven and Prime

Qld including Brisbane at 2pm on Seven

Gold Coast at 2pm on Prime

Delayed To:

Nationwide at 5:30pm AEST on Fox Footy and HD (5pm ACST - 3:30pm AWST)

Note: Seven will be broadcasting the match in HD nationwide, this will mean Channel 70 in Metro and Channel 60 in Regional areas

7mate is also airing a replay at 11:30am in your local timezone on Sunday morning

I am in Rockhampton in Central Queensland - no channel 60 in HD here.  Does this mean we are watching the GF in standard definition.  Please explain?

G'day pc9,

I thought something like this would happen, however, as I understand it, it's part of the contract with the AFL that the game MUST be provided in HD, this is why 7mate in NSW and Qld has been the source of HD content instead of Seven's main channel

As far as I'm aware, in Victoria, 7mate is HD but isn't broadcasting the game, so I'm not entirely sure if they are going to do something about that or just sit around watching it in SD. But that's for Prime to think about

So, as for Queensland, which is under the Seven company umbrella, I find it surprising that they haven't done something there, so it looks like aren't meeting their obligations, unless for you guys it's actually on Channel 70 instead

Checked 70 this morning and its sd.  Most of regional and rural and remote Australia will be watching in sd including towns which rely on VAST for retransmission.  AFL and seven dont give a damn about AFL fans in non  heartland areas.  Seven only concerned about maximising ratings and latee sipping McLachlin obsessed with AFLs role as a social justice warrior at the expense of ordinary supporters.

G'day,

Channel 7 have come to the party for Victorian viewers. They'll be replaying Richmond's Preliminary Final win over GWS at Midday today (Sunday) followed by their Grand Final win against Adelaide at 2:30pm

Not totally sure if their 11:30am replay on 7mate is still going ahead (which would benefit Prime viewers as it's still in HD)
