Sony Kd75X8500C Best Deals Achieved

Recommended Posts

With the Sony TV's being on sale and runout, I have been looking at getting a KD75X8500C.

Prices online, JB Hifi, and Harvey Norman are pretty much the same. Bing Lee a lot better but I am in Melbourne,

Salesman at JB was a bit stiff. Wouldn't do it any better price, would't throw anything in and wanted $350 for a extra 2 years warranty.

So $4246 or with extended warranty $4596.

Anyone that has purchased one of these in the last few days or week I would love to hear any deal you may have managed to negotiate that's better than the standard offering.

Also very interested in what people are paying for extended warranties with this tv.

Hey judge.

Bought one 3 days ago at Harvey Norman. Sale price of $4296. Threw in free delivery but that was all they would budge on. Nice tv.

I thought that may be the case most places. Want to charge me $65 for delivery too. I will collect. Did you take extended warranty or buy 3d glases?

No. They suggested the product care or whatevs but it was $600. Nup. And you know what I never even thought of 3D glasses but if I want 3D on a movie I will watch it on the x500 in the movie room. Shoulda still asked though. Bugger.

some credit cards give you 12 months on top of the manufacturers warranty, depends if you think that is enough otherwise you have double dipped on the first year

Yeah I heard this one. Jb standard warranty is 2.5 years with the TV. I think this may be because of the newer warranty laws that a basic 1 year warranty is unfit for a $4000+ item.

yep i think there was a bit of talk regarding the value of extended warranties recently in light of new consumer laws, i dont know the details off hand, but its out there

might be worth a look before committing to a deal

if you can go the extra $$

I would try and jump at the kd-75x9400c before they are all gone. You can get them for just under 6K now and less for the demo models. You won't get a better TV for the price period.

I did not buy any additional warranty. Consumer laws dictate manufacturers must replace/repair for a fair period of time - 3-4 years at least for large $$ item tv's.

Thanks metamatic,

I'll start my search! but I will struggle as my TV stand is 1800mm wide. The 75" is 1929mm wide (by the look of the photos, the legs sit at full width right)

The 65" KD65X9300C comes in at 1706mm wide and appears to be its little brother.

I went to check out TVs yesterday. Ended up with a LG OLED, but man the 9300C was tempting. The one LED that stood out for me. Not cheap though, the 55" was around the $3.5k mark.

Not worth paying for with new-ish ACL protections. :)

I definitely can't fit the 75x9400.

Is the 75x8500c a full array? I know it's tri-luminous.

I have mine with the feet in the middle as my stand is not wide enough. Works a treat.

If u want to barging on a demo model, try HN Belrose and Auburn. They still had theirs last week.

Good luck

Mine is still going perfectly- touch wood. Absolutely luv it.

I guess the line is always there?

I would contact Sony.  They will either fix it or replace it under consumer law.  It is less than 3 - 4 years old.

Yes it's always there.

At first I thought it was a problem with the Source (new Fetch TV) but the line was still there after I unplugged the HDMI.
