DMLKeys
The JS9000 is finally here and I switched it on for the first time yesterday. Amazing TV. Only problem is my Foxtel box has no HDMI input or output. I have copied the calibration settings as in here: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/js9000/settings?uxtv=f055 but was unable to change the 'HDMI black level' via (Menu > Picture > Picture Options. HDMI black level is inactive and set as default to 'low'. Everything else was done. The picture is really terrible at the moment. I can only describe it as cloudy. The whites look cloudy off white. I have ordered the Foxtel IQ3 box. Dynamic contrast is 'off' by default. The only thing I am hoping to do now is hope the picture will come to life when I connect the HDMI IQ3 box with the TV and hopefully, setting HDMI black level to 'Auto' will bring it to life. It looks really washed out right now. At least at the slightest touch of the button, the TV fires up! That's a start

What what I recall, HDMI black level is greyed out when using the internal tuner or something that is not via HDMI... Glad you're happy with the new telly. jutta
I can't find the original thread (either that or posts are missing).....My 64F8500 is starting to play up. Been happening for a couple months now. It won't switch on sometimes. Other times it does try to power up but get a blinking light and volume but no picture. Sometimes pulling the power lead out of the back and resting/powering down for 30 seconds fixes it. Dreading that it may well be dying too. Was going to read the thread to see if a similar problemSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Search "Plasma 60in F8500 replacement under warranty". I like my new set, others prefer plasma.

I'd prefer cash to put towards an Oled I paid $4000 for this when I purchased it as the 'best display' available at the time. I'd consider only a 9 series as replacement as the current 'best display' in their lineup. 5 hours ago, JSmith said: This might help... possible Y-board replacement; http://www.avsforum.com/forum/167-plasma-flat-panel-displays/1959809-samsung-pn64f8500afxza-issues-turning.html#post35633698 Someone mentions in this thread that Samsung had run out of the y-board parts in the US... so maybe only refurbished around. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PN64F8500-Y-MAIN-LJ41-10331A-LJ92-01935A-BN96-25216A-No-Picture-REPAIR-SERVICE-/111782415267 How many times does the light blink in your case? JSmith Yeah I'd done some reading and was aware of scarce parts. I love this display. Pretty much perfect.
