Calman Pattern Disks

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So I splashed out and bought CALMAN thinking it would simplify somewhat the calibration of my projector, mainly due to its workflows.

I downloaded the AVCHD pattern disk, mounted it as a virtual drive, and started CALMAN.

Now the thing is, every time I select the pattern disk as the source (Find Source\Pattern Disk\AVS Calibration disk 1.3) it hangs on the "Cancelling" screen.

I think its because the AVS option is looking for an infrared connection.

Is there any way I can load a pattern disk from a local virtual drive?

Thanks

Is it an ISO file? Maybe it doesnt like the virtual drive. Try burning it to disc and loading it in a dvd or bluray pLayer

It is an ISO, and I do not have a DVD drive on my laptop, so I need to mount as virtual.....

Just to clarify, I can obviously manually play the ISO in PowerDVD, but I want CALMAN to manage the pattern automatically.....that's the bit that wont work.

That being said, the AVS pattern disk option seems to want the IR thingy attached to work.

Same thinking as me, but I was wrong.

Hmmm....so how far did you get, did you manage to calibrate with CALMAN at all?

No. It's rubbish. And I bought the good colorimeter from them as well as the Enthusiast license. Should have gone with Light Illusion or Chromapure. The Calman has been updated since I last used it, so it might be better now. But buggered if I was going to pay them a cent more for the update (need to pay an annual fee to maintain the Calman updates service).
