On-Glass Projection Advice

Recommended Posts

Hi all, does anyone have any experience with On-Glass Projection?

http://www.commandaustralia.com.au/solutions/onglass.php

I am going to buy the film which is the following 50" 16:9 ratio , 125cm diagonal - 109 x 61cm

The projector will be mounted to the ceiling connected to a PC either via HDMI or Cat 5 cable.

The content that will be displayed will be a combination of text and images.

Any recommendations on which projector i should purchase?

Thanks

That looks like a 3M projection film applied to glass, its been around for a while.

For non dark room viewing you need a bright projector if the image is going to be big. For a small image is in your link just about any projector will do.

There are many inexpensive single chip DLP projectors that would be suitable. Data models are bright and cheap but not full HD if that matters.

Thanks for the reply Owen.

The film will be on the glass projected so people can see the display outside. The area is undercover and well shaded but the Sun might hit the window depending on time of day.

I'm New to projectors what's a good reliable brand?

This project is for a company I currently work for.

Your projector choice may be constrained by brightness requirments, lens requirements (throw distance for the required image size), mounting location limitations and the requirement or other wise for lens shift.

We need to know the size of the image, the distance the projector can be mounted from the screen. Can the projector be mounted at screen center height or will it need to be mounted high or low?

What resolution is required? For presentations 1920x1080 my be overkill.

The screen film will also have recommended projection angles and distances, so they need to be factored in as well.
