Fs Jtr Triple 12Ht Captivator Sub, Fp14000 Plate Amp, 4 Slanted 8 Surrounds

Recommended Posts

Well I'm finally selling off these beast speakers. I'm putting in Krix Neuphonix and Epicentrix gear as the new room is much smaller than my previous one 6.7 x 9 down to 5 x 5.2 ish - thats 60 down to 27sq metres.

These have recently sold on another thread in Melb for $1450 each so I'd be asking the same for the Triple 12's. http://www.jtrspeakers.com/home-audio/triple-12ht/

The Captivator sub without plate amp @ $1900. http://jtrspeakers.com/home-audio/captivator/

Plate amp $850 - used for about 10hrs. New 15amp australian plug attached. This is the FP14000 top of the line clone amp.

The slanted 8 surrounds sell for $999 USD each plus shipping and GST. 2 of them have screw holes in the top of them as I had used projector mounts to hang them from underside of ceiling. Screw holes do not effect their performance or operation. Asking $450 each. http://jtrspeakers.com/home-audio/slanted-8/ - what's up with their site? not working at present.

total of $8900. Will sell as a complete system for 8K.

New, this complete system will cost $11,400 approx, give or take a couple of hundred and based on shipping a pallet at 2K AUD, GST at 10% and no tariff.

Can be shipped at your expense anywhere in Australia.

PM or email if interested.

cheers,

Rich

Good luck with the sale Rich. I can tell you now that whoever picks up the kit will be blown away. I sold my T12s that Rich was refering to and the cost going from T12 to Cat12s was not worth the 2-5% difference in the system vs 3 T12s for the cost of 1 Cat 12.

Personally I would run them in a 5 x 5.s room in a heart beat :) They are effortless and sound amazing.

Couple of questions if that's OK:

You say "plate amp", is that what it is? Does the sub have a cutout to mount it? I ask because I thought a plate amp was designed to be fitted into the sub enclosure, but you've linked to a passive sub (I assume it's the captivator 2400 you're selling?). Does it, then, have binding posts?

Also, some rudimentary sums tell me it's 3 x triple 12HT speakers? Or does the "triple" mena the number of boxes rather than drivers?

Willing to split the sub out?

Freight from where?

Thanks.

In addition to what Arthur has said I will add that the Captivator 2400 Sub is an incredible speaker with output that blows you away. Very well priced considering the cost to bring one in is prohibitive. Good luck with the sale Richard. Must be hard to part with such great gear.

No, it's a seperate amp to run the passive captivator sub. You can't run the sub without an amp.

And yes it has binding posts.

Thanks for that, will give it some thought. Big $ to move that box from Qld I'd imagine, may be the killer for me.

Heaps more if you were bringing them from the USA.

Freight from US + 10% GST is probably about $550 (based on http://www.dtvforum....&hl=+captivator). Probably $400+ to freight from GC to Sydney. This difference isn't as much as I would have thought.

Nah, freight's gone up, dollar's dropped and shipping this to you would be around 200-250.

Anyway I'll probably just wait for a local buyer, no shipping, no hours spent packaging them up.

Opps fair enough, just see you were only talking about the sub, I was thinking it was the total package, apologies.

Fair enough, it's a pain. I'll probably just wait for something local as well!

No prob, my assumptions all seemed to be wrong anyway!

How many channels is the clone amp, Rich? and how many total kw. Can we use them for speakers and not just for the subs?

Cheers,

Kevin

Edit - Never mind, found it ;)..................definetly an impressive piece of kit! 2 channels and 7000w into 2ohm load, fk me dead! lol. No wonder people who have been running IB subs use this amp LOL!. Im so freaking tempted to get it for the price and run it for my rears lol.

I cranked up the system on the weekend to reference level and put on the album Crash by the Dave Matthews band.. I sat in front of the speakers at about 3.8 metres and listened to #41 and Say Goodbye... It was like having the band in the room playing live.. it was just phenomenal.. so crisp and loud and yet no distortion, no hissing between songs.. just incredible.. shame they're such a PITA business to deal with.. Will be hard to part with them...

Price: $300 Item Condition: 6/10 - Woofer has two small dents I only just noticed. Shipping Options: Audition is not available, but in-person pickup can be arranged with limited personal contact,I can ship this item Suburb or Town: Vaucluse, 2030 State: New South Wales Payment Method: Paypal, Cash Reason for selling: New speakers don't need a sub Further information:
Hasn't been used for a few months.
I used to have them paired with Canton GLE426 but since upgrading, I haven't needed this and It's remained off for months.
MSRP was $675 for the sub (dealers went down to $600) and $110 for the isolation platform.
The sub can be mounted on the wall or placed underneath furniture and it fits perfectly on the isolation platform.
The dents have no affect on the sound and cannot be seen when properly placed.

Price: $7900 Item Condition: Excellent Shipping Options: Pickup is available Suburb or Town: Oxley State: Australian Capital Territory Payment Method: Cash, Bank transfer, PayPal (if you pay fees) Reason for selling: NLR - went back to valves I purchased this amplifier new in April 2017 from an Australian retailer and it still presents in new condition, with no scratches or marks that I can see - so if you've been hunting for a minty McIntosh power amp to upgrade or add to your Mc-Stack then this one could be for you!

Low ballers will be ignored - I’d like to sell this amp because it isn’t being used, not because I need to as a result of any current events.

It's been a fantastic amp however I've move into the Audio Research brand for a sound which is a little different (and for tube power).

I have the original double box, manual, packaging etc for this, it's a crazy heavy beast at 60kg packed - so pick up is preferred.

Any freight required as well as paypal fees are not included in the above price and will be at buyers cost depending on the your requirements.

The Rocket 88 is very interesting from several perspectives. It uses a "Retro" design Cat's Eye tube for monitoring output level for each channel. You can see them in the photo above left. These are the round green "things" on the left and right side of the amplifier front panel. They were used on various products back in the 1960s, especially on tape recorders (they were reel-to-reel recorders back then). Only professional recorders had VU meters, and this was long before LCD recording meters that we see on modern cassette recorders of all price ranges.

The Rocket 88 is switchable between functioning in Triode Mode (20 watts Pure Class A output per channel), and Ultra-Linear Pentode Mode (40 watts Class A/B per channel). There is a small toggle switch behind the far left KT-88 and far right KT-88 for switching each channel between these two modes independently, although I cannot think of a reason why I would ever use one channel in triode mode and the other channel in pentode mode. It may be just to keep the circuits as isolated as possible.

      Specifications
Circuit: Push Pull, Balanced, Class A Triode, Class AB
      Ultra-linear
Tube Compliment: Four  KT-88 Output tubes, Two EL-84 Current Source Tubes, Two  6922 Input Tubes

The RS series of MOON audio components benefit from an even higher standard of manufacturing process than the regular MOON versions. All significant differences are contained within the circuitry and construction of each model.

RS versions are built using different materials and parts in certain areas. For example, printed circuit boards are of a higher temperature grade than that of the military specification FR-4 material we normally use; Their traces are gold-plated instead of a tin/lead composite. As well, all capacitors use improved dielectric materials.

      Specifications
Description: Solid-state, dual-mono stereo power amplifier. Inputs: 1 pair unbalanced (RCA), 1 pair balanced (XLR). Outputs: 1 pair WBT binding posts. Comms: RS-232 port, 12V trigger input and output. Rated power output: 150W into 8 ohms, 300W into 4 ohms, 600W into 2 ohms (all 21.75dBW). Maximum output voltage: 34V. Maximum output current: 42A peak, 18A continuous. Voltage gain: 31dB. Input impedance: 47.5k ohms. Input sensitivity: 980mV for rated power. Frequency response: 10Hz–200kHz, –3dB. Channel separation: 105dB at 1kHz. Output impedance:
