warren2503
Well I'm down to this the 9200w and the jvc , I'm favoring the Sony but looking to see how close the pricing gap on the epson and jvc , can anyone advise either if there is a group buy on the Sony 55es or where I can get a good price ? pgdownload
What's a good price?
warren2503
seem the RRP is 4999 which is a large amount above the Epson . I read inother thread that the Street price for the Sony 50ES was $3500 or there abouts so I am hoping that the street price for the Sony ES55 is close to that

I did a quick look around and all the (buy now) prices I could find just tipped the $5000 mark, including a few international sites.Good Luck Peter Gillespie
schnitty
Having recently looked into this about a month ago (albeit in Adelaide) I was able to get a price of about $4100 for the HW55ES but ended up picking up an ex-demo (50 hours on lamp) HW50ES for $2999. Stirlo
I picked one of these up right on Christmas for $3930 from Big Picture People. Loving the projector so far, it is just awesome.
warren2503
Cheers Thanks for that stirlo , went and had a look at a 55es yesterday the one I saw has a bad flicker in the picture, the flicker reduced to minor when the sales guy put the iris to full auto but it was still there . I will have to see if I can find one somewhere else in Sydney first , picture was really good but the flicker -on 2d was not acceptable
Owen
That's a faulty lamp or projector. There should be zero flicker with any digital projector.
warren2503
Yeh that's what I thought as well Owen
mgrobins
Can anyone confirm if the Epson does modes for an anamorphic lens (no sled)? I know the 6030UB does but the Australian model I am not sure of (different designations for countries is annoying ). How about the Sony? I'm comparing both of these as choices against the JVC X35 and am following the discussion keenly .
