Gaming Tv Recommendation

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was looking at upgrading my old 32" Samsung LCD and was after some advice and this seems like an excellent place to get some. :)

I narrowed it down to the LED range and most likely around the 40" – 42" size. I could push it to 55" but I tend to sit relatively close to the TV so that's probably too big for my lounge. I am however happy to hear advice in the 50"+ range too.

The Sony W800A and Samsung F6400 seem good. JB have the F6700 which confused me a bit as it looks like the F7100 series which only come in 46" and above from what I saw on their site. So I assume it's the F6400 with a different case.

The Sony apparently has really good input lag (or lack thereof). While I'd mainly be using it for gaming, I'm after something that also has great image quality, colors and good contrast. 3D and internet is really not important.

What would you guys suggest? Any models you have that you've been happy with?

Sony W800A

Lowest input lag which is great for gaming. 2" bigger than the Samsung counterpart. Good color reproduction. Downside is that I noticed some flicker on some scenes that the Samsung didn't have.

Samsung F6400/6700

These seem like the same panel to me but the 6700 is apparently a JB exclusive and looks like the 6400 internals on a 7100 case. Colors were nice. Higher input lag than Samsung.

Panasonic ET60A

Nice colors and decent TV but apparently has some contrast issues and input lag problems.

Also came across this which I'm dubious of but found interesting:

Item Condition: Excellent Shipping Options: Pickup available but audition is not available.,Shipping is available at agreed cost. Suburb or Town: Mascot State: New South Wales Payment Method: Pickup- Cash, Paypal Reason for selling: NLR Further information:
Selling my one year old Sony IER-M9, first owner. Due to Covid I have been using my IEMs a lot less and use my full sized more.
The M9 is my secondary IEM as an alternative/complimentary to my Kaiser 10 CIEM, hence it gets less head time.

I have only used the ML sized hybrid tips and unbalanced cable. The other components are pretty much pristine.

Preferably pickup, shipping cost at your expense.

Item Condition: Great condition Shipping Options: Pickup available and you can audition. Suburb or Town: Brisbane State: Queensland Payment Method: Cash on pick up Reason for selling: To many headphones, including 3 iems Further information:

Great condition, Im the second owner. I will change out the hybrid tips for new set of unused m9 tips being the black tips of wanted.

Wanted to allow the opportunity for someone here before I put them up on gumtree or eBay for more.

Considered one of the best iems of all time, the Sony flagship.

They are in great condition, they have some micro scratching but that is expected for this model and unavoidable due to the finish.

Just don't have the time to use them and don't take them outside the house.  So limited use ATM.

Preferably pick up only but will consider sending with shipping at your expense or to be negotiated.  Also would consider a swap for a high quality amp.

Many people on SNA like to keep abreast of the latest research and discoveries and one of the more interesting recent announcements comes from an Israeli University. Their researches have literally delivered me with a light bulb moment. As a result I am seriously reconsidering my system design.

Because this is at the cutting edge of audio I am having some trouble working from first principles to integrate the telescope into the signal path and thought the SNA brains trust would be onto this and able to provide some guidance.

I better explain. Here is the advice. It explains things better than I could. Please excuse the length of the quote from Wired via Ars Technica.

An immediate first step of course is in relation to wattage. From now on when someone talks to me about wattage, I'm going to have to ask if they are referring to amplifier wattage or light bulb wattage. For example hereabouts we are looking at a 2 x 375 watt combo, this is serious hi-fi, except it's infra-red and being installed in the bathroom ceiling as part of the renos, which means that the best listening position is not where the seat is.

Then there's the telescope question. Does that mean monaural? Are binoculars a better option to provide depth of field and soundstage?

How does one ensure good imaging? Should the telescope be fastened to the floor or completely decoupled by way of anti-vibration mounts etc. I think I'm going to have some real-life results for you, as in order to get the light bulb/ telescope signal path working properly I have no option but to put the telescope in the middle of the laundry floor. WAF has suddenly become a critical factor, and a dim view is being taken about limiting the times when the washing machine operates to periods when the stereo is off.

This research looks to be a positive contribution to civilization and in particular to audio technology. Given the nature of the research I can only assume that the research was sponsored by Mossad, and if so, this is a very good thing! Secret services get a bad rap, last news I heard about Mossad was they used New Zealand passports for an assassination in the Gulf, which really raised the question of "if that's how you treat your friends..." So sharing this cutting-edge audio news is certainly a step in the right direction.

Currently I'm looking at a pair of these, because non-spherical light bulbs might have a profound effect on the algorithms, such as loss of bass. Obviously I've taken the clear option for transparency.

This Sony PS-HX-500 turntable is hardly used. I used it to do digital recording of perhaps 20 LPs and played another 20 or so, since purchase new in December 2018.

I have all of the supplied components, including the suplied RCA interconnects/phono earth lead. I am including a better quality pair of interconnects.

I have all original packaging, manual and the DSD/WAV recording software is readily available from Sony Australia's website, or I can supply.

Advertised at well under 50% of retail. Working perfectly.

PayPal buyers will be asked to share the transaction fee. In line with SNA guidelines, I do not support Paypal friends/family payment.
