alanh
WileECoyote, You already have ABEW 9A and SBS 9. Coming are VDW 8 (TenWest), VEW 12 (GWN) and WOW 11 (WIN). With all these transmitters you will get all 16 programs. Your existing antenna will be fine. AlanH Edited November 9, 2011 by alanh
DrP
Hang on a sec! A government press release?! We all know that government press releases just don't cut it (but only when they disagree with alanh, of course).

DrP
Oh come on. This is just getting ridiculous. I'm not so sure, afterall alanh was confused about Korea being part of north America. Perhaps he's only just realised that Esperance is not in the middle of China. Edited November 10, 2011 by DrP
Guest Malich
Senator Conroy is making sure that all Australians will have access to 16 DTV programs regardless of where they are within Australia. The Hon. Senator Stephen Conroy ensures a lot of things. Selected highlights: That all Australians can enjoy the benefits of digital radio. That basic standards are maintained for consumers in the telecommunications industry. That no-one is left behind in the switch to digital-only free-to-air television. That the media abide by their codes of practice. That all Australians no matter where they live have access to reliable high speed broadband, that people know how to use it effectively in order to reap its benefits, and that no business or community organisation is left behind. That teenagers and young people have the skills and knowledge to safely enjoy the benefits of the internet. That Australians are equipped with the knowledge to confidently engage in the online environment. That the ACMA's Internet black list is more comprehensive. And, most importantly and relevantly, that all digital channels are available in places where commercial broadcasters transmit their services terrestrially. Sounds like he's a busy man. Somehow, I don't think the words "make sure" or "ensure" mean quite the same thing to him as they do to you or I. Especially that last one, which sounds suspiciously like "If you currently receive some commercial FTA TV, you'll be able to ... er, receive some commercial FTA TV". Muttley
Well I must say it was nice being able to watch the F1 on One the other night, and not have to wait for some nice person in the UK to record it for me *ahem*. I had to drop the boost on my booster as the ABC was tripping out which is handy. I might even pull it later and see if I can go without it now. Now to convince the wife that a second tuner and bigger hard disk for the MCE box is a good idea (wish me luck!).
