Set Top Boxes And Digital Televisions Channel 350+

Recommended Posts

What happens when you get channels from 350 onwards

and what happens after 399

I have the answer

The TV or set top box will continue to tune in from channel 400 onwards untill all channels are tuned

Therefore would anyone have a full list of current digital channels?

That usually only happens if you are receiving the same LCN from more than one transmitter.

Not all set top boxes do the 350 thing - an old SD box of mine used to just accept duplicate channel numbers, once I scanned in WIN from both the Latrobe Valley and Ballarat, and both got LCN 8 - and needed to be tuned by pressing the channel up/down buttons.

If you live in a place that's absolutely optimum for TV reception, and you get three markets with differing channels - lets say somewhere with Gold Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba reception:

Ok - using Australia's absolute worst case scenario for channel usage, you still have channels left within the 350-399 range. This is not an issue that will ever matter - if you are getting excessive 350 range channels such that it overflows, you need to factory reset and rescan, because there is no situation where you'd get it like that without deliberately trying to fill it up.

Note again that your receiver sets the channel numbers in the 350 range, not the broadcaster, so obviously in practice it wouldn't be that exact list - but it serves to demonstrate that every one of your repeated posts on this matter have no purpose.

So why does Bush and Highlander SetTop Boxes put ABC and SBS Illawarra in LCN 800+?

I Scanned both and received Sydney LCN's and Ilawarra LCN's

I live in sydney and there is or was an overflow problem with digital 44 datacast (when it was around)

No you wouldn't. There was one transmitter with Datacast 44 - with one set of LCNs in an empty range - there was no reason for the 350 range to be used, and if they were, a factory reset and rescan was needed.
