Sony 46z5500

Recommended Posts

Just purchased my Sony 46Z5500 today, I was wondering if anyone can offer me their preferred settings for viewing Blu-Ray and Ps3

Lastly, is Firmware update available for this TV considering the fact many overseas users have been updating their Bravia's via the latest firmware.

Cant wait for my Ps3! Woooot! :P

Thank you all!

Some guy on the AV forum posted these. I haven't tried them yet:

My settings are still based on intuition as calibration disc was not much of a help without reference material

Brightness: 60

Color fullness: 50

Color temp: warm2

Movie mode: aut 1

Black level enhancement: off

Contrast enhanc.. :off

Brighness limiter: off

White enhanc.. : off

White balance controls(wide colorspace makes red push on most content but gives also more color to most pictures):

Brightness green -5

Brightness blue 0

Black level red:-4

Black levelgreen -2

Black level 0

Other as default 0

turn power saving off to improve picture quality

I've noticed most ppl tend not to play around with any enhancement, is there a compelling reason for this?

Also, how is your experiences with the Tv's performance in respect to Ps3 gaming? Pretty good I'd Hope

Hey there,

I will be seeing the TV in the flesh in my house for the very first time tonight. It was wall-mounted while I was at work :)

Can't comment on it at all yet.

In the process of registering for PS3 and warranty. I am not a gamer though. But the Blu-Ray will be nice.

I was tempted to sell the PS3, but hubby said just keep it.

Will post thoughts this week.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Typhoon.

I must be driving in the slow lane today :) I didn't get the joke?

Also, re the TV, turns out our aerial port / cabling is dodgy. The TV only catches SBS 2 at the moment.

So I STILL haven't seen what the picture looks like at home.

Electrician coming in the next day or 2.

The original electrician that installed the cabling and port for us is such a lovely guy, but a really CRAP electrician.

I don't have the heart to tell him though. Such a sweet young kid.

Typhoon.
