that's exactly the point. people cut & paste and in this case only mentioned the sale price for the tv but don't mentioned that it was grouped in with big profit margin items..

i was able to get the 46pz800a for $2275 cash price absolutely no add ons, and i'm glad to add that other members on here have been able to obtain the same tv at that price.

That's pretty good price. When I shopped for my 46" 800A about a month ago, the best cash price that I could get is $2550 after many trips and phone calls to different shops.

I ended up buying from DSE Powerhouse for $2,678 and didn't take up their discount of $200 for telly only, no GPS and surge protector. I sold my TomTom on eBay for $370 and keep the surge protector so my telly is around $2,300 which is not a bad deal I believe.

I have now narrowed my choices to the Panasonic 800a or Philips 9703 ... My question is, because I will be using a HTPC for watching FTA/ blue ray shows and the usual internet surfing ... will the plasma suffer from the so called 'burn in' ? Which of you have this setup with the 800a ? Comments, suggestions all appreciated.

Currently, it would be the 50PY850H...unfortunately in the US, they have the built in THX mode...supposedly good in the preset PQ details.

i got the plasmas from kevin at the frankston myer. he was a great guy. i bought a qty of small lcd's for work but it seemed he was happy enough to give those prices regardless. don't be fooled by the ticket prices, myer have good buying power.

Went to JB-HiFi, WOW and Clive Peters and out of all of them Clive Peters were the best and willing to talk about pricing.

For people who want to buy 46"800A, go to PowerHouse Bankstown (HomeCentra? corner of Canterbury Rd and Chapel Rd). They are selling this TV for $2249(ticket price), 4 yr warranty was quoted around $350.

42" 800A was ticked $23XX (more than 46", was it an error?), but you can get it by 2000.

for 50" 800A ticketed price was just above 2650

You can pay by Credit Card.

Retravision in noble park said they couldnt get anywhere near that price. The good guys in dandenong said much the same. JB hifi in dandenong didnt have to think about it too long to match it tho
