It's difficult to determine when Amazon use Royal Mail and when Deutsche Post: I had 2 orders delivered recently, both with a mix of Amazon and Starfish items, one came via Royal Mail and the other via Deutsche Post.

Not sure whether it was luck or design, but the Royal mail delivery was a small package of just 3 standard titles, whereas the Deutsche Post one had 4 titles including a box set (which would be the equivalent of 8 standard titles).

My hunch is that small parcels where they can use that wrap around cardboard are sent via Royal Mail and larger ones via Deutsche Post, but I don't know what the threshold in size would be.

I wish Amazon gave us a choice, like DVD Pacific do.

Deutsche takes longer, so it is bound to be cheaper.

Oh, and everything gets identified as "Sold by Amazon EU S.a.r.L." in emails, regardless of whether they are Amazon or Starfish sourced items.

Order posted on the 1/06 got it today this is by far the longest it has ever taken for a order from Amazon , seems to be getting worse lately.

Just to go against the grain - ordered 4 titles on the 16th and they all arrived today. Luck of the draw I guess.

why buy from the UK, wouldnt the exchange rate make it not worthwhile???? or does the UK have better selection of titles etc??

We really need to complain individually to Amazon about Deutche post, coming from one or two wont make much difference

Does anyone know the difference between the two companys they use and why they may use one for some and not another? Wonder if the quicker one is more expensive for them or just a better run copmany compared to the Deutche post.

Man, I ordered the Spider-Man trilogy ($40AUD delivered) from amazon.co.uk last Wednesday, and it stated that it ships within 5-6 days.

Received an email on Friday saying it had dispatched.

Well, it arrived on my doorstep here in Melbourne this morning.

I have always enjoyed a fantastic service from amazon.co.uk, but this set a new record for me.

yeah, was Royal Mail, what is the alternative? I paid only 3.58 pounds for shipping 3 discs, and it took a whole 2 business days! very satisfied :)

I am waiting on items that were dispatched on the 15, 16 and the 18 of June no sign of them , and yet an order that i placed on the 22/06 arrived yesterday all via those bloody Germans.

Interesting , on the paperwork stuck on the box of my latest order , it had a date of the 24/06 as despatch hmm something is going on , plus i have had sets sealed and unsealed ,boxed and unboxed all in the same orders.

Just signed up to AmazonUK. Can you only buy from AmazonUK directly, as opposed to other new/used sellers? The other ones i tried said they wouldn't ship to my address.

Asked this in another thread, but no response as yet.
