ugoagogo
Its a tough call between the ps50a750 and the g series pana because the g series has no motion control ( Frame creation ) , the pz series is still reguarded by pana as top of the range. Karma
I thought most people turn off IFC anyway? From what ive read they do and thats the way i'm going at the moment. Don't think you can really lose out with going either a Panasonic or Samsung. After the PZ series came out i would say Pana definately had the best plasma screens but take your pic this year it comes down to pure individual choice. I also thought some of Panasonics earlier teles looked somewhat dated but the 800-850 to me look the most futurisitic designs ive seen to date and as CNET puts it it "And its gloss-black finish and subtle bottom bezel help it stand out from all the other rectangular "window frames" out there. bertzz99
It seems that delays are the order of the day both at Samsung and Panasonic. Pana 42 and 46G10 available now at Myer, 50G10 in about 2 weeks. S10 range in about 6 weeks (not sure if this includes the 54S10), V10 sometime after August. Samsung 50B550, 650 and 850 should be here within 2 weeks. 58B550 maybe around the same time. 58B650 and 850 could be here soon as well but more likely a few weeks after the above. Without a direct comparison of these in the flesh, I wouldnt be laying down and hard-earned!

Yes this is why i am interested in the 50B650 instead of the 50B550. You might need to go to for the 58B650 instead.

The price difference between B550 and B650 is substantial compared to B550 to B560. Obviously there are no aussie prices yet, but Amazon has the following prices: 58B550 - $1999 58B560 - $2099 58B650 - $2464 The 650 is the same as the 550 plus: Cinema Smooth Internet Widgets Medi@Home Is this right? Are they the only differences? Is the panel the same? I have a htpc for internet/media playing stuff so that doesn't interest me. I just want Cinema Smooth, but if the difference is $400 US I will forget about it.

Owen, whats your take on the cinema smooth feature found on the 650B and above? Is it a worthwhile feature? I mean would you not buy the 550B due to it not having the cinema smooth feature? I haven't seen one in action yet to make up my own mind.

PS50B550 should cost around $2000 PS50B650 about $2500 HDMI cable $25 4 Year extended warranty say $200 Delivery say $

I recon the main advantage of the B650 is the better screen filter, its worth having. The "Cinema smooth" is nice but not issential in my view. I blieve the 50" B series is not the same panel at tyeh 58" B series Edited June 6, 2009 by Owen

Maybe in 6 months. Right now no one is selling it for less than $2350. They haven't even arrived yet. $2650 for the PS50B650. $200 for a 4 year extended warranty? Doubtful. That 3k did include a good surge protector, more than just a HDMI cable as well.

I expect to pay $2400-$2500 for a PS50B650 within a month; anyone who pays more then $2100 for B550 is not getting a good deal IMHO. The 50A550 was selling for $2000 without haggling. I paid $170 for a 4 year warranty extension on a $6500 TV, why would anyone pay over $200 of a $2500 TV? Extended warranties are very lucrative for retailers, the premium is no where near what they charge. It pays to shop around for warranties. A decent surge protector is worth $40.
