cheaper from amazon Uk 28 pounds, less tax

This UK one is just the Complete Matrix set. 3 disc - No extra discs (which is fine if you just want the movies. Quite a good price)

Ultimate Matrix is 7 disc set.

My CDWOW order got cancelled too, too good to be true.

If anyone still want the Starship Troopers Trilogy 101CD.com have it for 12.87Pounds shipped, and are reliable. That works out to be under $30AUD so is pretty awesome.

So has anyone asked Consumer Affairs about this scenario?

It seems to me that CD WOW saying that it is no longer available is purely just a lie.

Can't they admit there may have been a pricing error?

Amazon.uk have dropped their prices back to GBP 11.98 for Dances With Wolves, Heat, Contact and North by Northwest. A further GBP 1.56 VAT (per title) should also come off during checkout.

What they should have done was to admit it was a pricing error and that all stocks on hand have been exhausted due to the sudden rush in orders, and that their supplier is unable to provide them with anymore stock.

People would then see that made a pricing mistake, honoured what they could, and couldn't get anymore in (bullshit excuse at the end to cover themselves).

:)

Are you sure this is VAT reduction.

I thought it was VAT of my order, but then worked out I had luckily chosen 3 titles from the "buy 2 get one free" list.

Amazon is really screwy with pricing: they advertise a Blu-ray "blowout" sale, but actually increased the prices of many titles (eg True Blood increased $5, Band Of Brothers increased $9, The Thing increased $4).

I've been waiting for prices to actually fall, not go in the opposite direction and the drop in the Aussie $ hasn't helped either.

Previously, I think Amazon increased prices during their 3-for-2 sale, but nothing like that is being offered at the moment: the blowout sale is supposedly just a price reduction (admittedly some titles are now cheaper during the sale).

I wonder if the UK offering will be the German or French version (hopefully the German).

They seem to be pre-orders available in October, so a long time to wait.

Its fairly common practice for all amazon sites to bounce pricing. See it all the time on both the US and UK sites. Its just one of those things they do.

Just watch Jb with above, some of the titles were marked higher and even scanned higher, make sure you point out the catalogue price to the cashier

There was no specific start date for the catalogue, but it did come in the paper yesterday, so I assume it started then!

Amazon is really screwy with pricing

I had to order a pile of DVD box sets from Amazon in the US once for work.

For some reason I checked a couple of the titles an hour or so later and their prices had dived. So, I reassembled an identical order, placed it, deleted the first one, and saved about US$40.

If they want to be dodgy with pricing, I'll be dodgy with ordering!

Cheers!

Flumpf.
