I second the Wizard MC never been charged anymore than the actual exchange rate

i've got one just the other day - JUST FOR OVERSEAS PURCHASES !!!!

Just DITCH any other local credit card - and research / apply for this one - and then just transfer from your bank account online.

Stop letting the other banks screw you around with annual fees and charges !!

anyway .. since this is a bargain thread - the amazon uk stuff looks ok - pity some of the 'cheaper' titles are crap (or really dont deserve a HD upgrade if you already own the dvd)

Are you guys referring to the Wizard Clear Advantage MasterCard? The Wizard MasterCard is different and seems to be only available with a Wealth Power Line of Credit account.

As for free overseas transaction fees, unless you could compare the effective exchange rates, it's rather pointless just saying it as an advantage.

Just got back from overseas. While in Singapore did a bit of browsing and saw some shops selling Blu-Rays. Also went to Mustafa Centre which is one of the cheapest places in Singapore and most of the Blu-Rays were around sg$44-sg$50 for catalog titles. I think we are doing much better here. Hope I didn't miss out on too many specials.

Update: A lot of the titles are not that great compared to Amazon. As deepdiscount's shipping rates are based on the total order (eg USD$50.01 to $100 is $12.95), your mileage may vary. So far, I might as well go with Amazon for the titles I've picked.

Seems Warners, Universal, Paramount and Roadshow will be doing a bit of a BR push in March, each has quite a few catalog titles to be released.

 

Warners well priced (catalog titles should be circa $30) Universal & Paramount a little more pricey (look for Cliffhanger, Top Gun & Days of Thunder) and Roadshow continue smoking the good drugs with their catalog pricing ($40+)

Anyone know where to find cheap BDs in Hong Kong? Headed up there for a few days!

I kept my XA2 (main room) and A35 (bedroom), didn't think there was any point in selling them and I needed a R1 upscaler for my large collection of R1 DVDs. Reon chip in my XA2 is pretty damn fine for that purpose. That and the fact I have several HD DVDs that I love (Serenity, Transformers etc...).

 

I doubt I'll buy them on blu while my HD DVD players still function.

I have about 160 HD DVD titles and wont be upgrading them to Blu-ray until my HD DVD Players have bit the dust which hopefully wont be for a while.
