Hey guys

I have finally taken delivery of all my gear and it has all been installed since Friday.

The set is unbelievably sexy and quality of everything is the best I have seen, so very happy in that regard.

However after doing some extensive watching and fiddling I have come across a few issues:

The volume seems to randomly go up and down, seems to happen on any station. Doesn't happen when viewing TV on my Toppy so it's the internal tuner only that this seems to happen on. I am getting weird break up of the image (aliasing??, not sure of the term.) during movements, I have tracked down a pic on this forum and cropped it to explaim the effect. It happens on every channel during very fast moving images and it's only minimal but noticeable. This also doesn't happen when I view TV through the Toppy so again internal tuner only.

I have a 4 way splitter for the antenna plug, but i have eliminated this by plugging the antenna cable directly into the wall socket and it still happens.

Another weird thing is happening when my receiver and PS3 is on:

This only happens on channel 7, when the receiver is on and the PS3 is on and viewing TV through the Kuro's internal tuner.

Bizzare! Every other channel works aexcept this happens on 7 and HD 7 channels. If I turn the AVR off it doesn't happen. If I turn the AVR on it's ok until I turn the PS3 on. All are running on HDMI.

1. Maybe what you are hearing is the difference between SD an HD services. There is a slight volume difference between the services. Then there's the volume the stations play their ads :angry2:

2. Looks like lack of bandwidth from the broadcasters - this will be most noticeable on HD channels - is your Toppy SD or HD?

3. How have you got things hooked up, everything to the AVR then AVR to screen - PS3->HDMI->AVR->HDMI->TV - or have you got them connected separately into the TV? Looks like it's recieving two signals at once...

Yeah diesel everything is going to AVR then screen, not into TV.

Problem only happens upon viewing TV via the TV's internal tuner. I was just watching TV and happened to leave the AVR and PS3 on and this happened, weird that it only happens on CH 7.....

No probs with the toppy signal.

The difference in volume happens during a program not ads eg. song on RAGE and the volume would be noticeably higher and lower during the song.

cheers

I get the image breakup issue but only when I tune in to ABC HD via the inernal tuner and only in the last couple of weeks. (I've had my LX508 since Jan 9th). In fact it's gotten even worse lately. I assumed it was the reception and just watch regular ABC through Foxtel now.

yeah i've noticed watching CH10 today it happened during Video Hits, hosts mouth would break up into horizontal lines, i quickly tuned in the toppy and it wasn't doing it, must be internal tuner bug by the looks of things.

also noticed a bit of macro blocking lately.
