I'm stuck at work, hope to get off early today so i can get home and give it a run. I bought Die Hard 4 last week in anticipation of the PS3 turning up, so i might see how that goes otherwise I have also got motorstorm to play on it.

Hey man, you're typing strange things and I dunno but I would say you're not feeling well... GO HOME!!!

Let us know how the PS3 goes with DH4, that is one hell of a great action flick to initiate yourself into HD ownership. Have Fun!

Just called the Sony Promo Hot line, Seems like they have extended the date claims must be received by 12 of Feb to 10th of March 2008.

called to reconfirm the delivery address and lucky I did since I had left out my Unit No.

The lady updated and said my claim have been processed so should be getting it soon I hope. I mailed it on 27th Dec 2007.

Firstly: YOU LUCKY B4STARD!!

Oh god... I just realised, I havn't bought any games or movies. What will I do if the PS3 comes and I have nothing to play on it! :(.

Time to hop on ebay and get something ready. I guess I could just drive to the store I work at, but theres absolutely no money in consoles. I think i'll buy fifa 08 now!

Dont forget people, If you have not bought anything to play or watch on the PS3, you can download demos from the playstation store directly to the console. Just a thought really.

Few questions.

1) Why do you need such a big drive, what use will it be. Other than Storage etc. You can't use the PS3 as a PVR can you?

2) How much was the 250gig drive? Must have been around $200?

3) Do any 2.5'' drives fit into the PS3? Double plate drives are fine correct?

4) What brand/model did you get?

I'd rather spend $80 on a crap game (although I hope to get fifa 08 tomorrow), than use my DL quota on PS3 demos and get forced onto 56k speeds for the rest of the month :(.

One more questions: What do we do about warranty on these babies? We can't extend it can we and do we get a receipt?

1) sometime soon this year, sony will bring out PlayTV. This is basically a twin tuner PVR attachment for the ps3

2) you can get a decent 250gb for $199

3) Nearly all 2.5" SATA laptop hard drives will work

4) I will get a Western Digital this friday

there is also a topic about this here

Was just curious if anyone has taken the other option of actually voicing their opinion by mailing Sony expressing

their disappointment in purchasing an X or XBR series Bravia only a couple of weeks prior to only find out the PS3 is now available as part of redemption when purchased the above product.

Has anyone thought or done this?

Will be interesting to see if Sony may provide any compensation or half price PS3's....

A friend of mine bought a 46 inch XBR about 6 days before the promo started. He simply rung up the store he bought it from and expressed extreme disappointment and they told him to go back into the store and they would print out a new receipt with a later date of purchase on it.

I did the same thing purchased on teh 17th went back and got a receipt reprinted for the 27th.

First BluRay I will get is Into the Blue. Jessica Alba in that swimming scene so awesome. Not sure what to get as my first game.

Hey P. Archer, Why have such a big HD? Is it for storage or does it improve the quality/framerate speed? Im thinking of getting one, I have a HD which is a 400g and is in a custom casing, not sure it would fit. Its for Film editing and I could ofcourse use another/larger HD.

Anyway, What is everyone's first Film/game they are buying to Christen there brand new PS3?

(i like the DieHard4 choice, haven't seen it yet)

I would like to get a new release Blu-Ray, an action flick, something that would really do the 46x justice!!!

Any Suggestions?

Im planning on getting both Call of Duty's and Assassins Creed.

Anyone know what 2.5" drives come in the PS3 40GB? and is it ok/will it make any difference to use a 7200rpm SATA?

I like the Seagate Momentus 200GB 7200 16mb - http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/produc...oducts_id=25951

though at $260 it's not worth it unless the performance will be of use in the PS3, otherwise I'll settle for a 5400.

What do you guys think?

For the Blu-Ray movie, I'm going out to get Casino Royale - which the Aussie version is the complete UNCUT version, unlike most of the others in the world, including the states... pity about Region coding for the rest of the world for once.

As for game, it has to be Assassins Creed for me.

What:KDL52x3100

When:2/1/08

Where:Joyce Main Bennetts Green (Newcastle NSW)

Price:$5150 plus I got them to throw in 4 Years Add Warranty at no extra charge.

I found later that the Joyce Main warranty does not cover fair wear and tear and there is no mention of in home service which would be nice on a 50Kg Bravia. Bing Lee matched that price and have a better warranty (apparantly) but did not have stock until the 15/01

Mailed:7/1/08

Status:waiting

Got the redemption email pretty quickly after registering on line but noted that my email filter had classed it as spam and place it in the junk folder, so those that have their email filtered by their ISP may never see it.

I agree that harassing Sony with unnecessary phone calls will just slow down the process for everyone. They have already got our money so I wouldn't expect them to put any more resource into handing out free PS3s then they need to.

I'd like to know how much the pricing is going to be for this attachement. I already have a 400G PVR, if Sony is going to charge an arm and a leg then count me out for the HD upgrade and for buying the attachment.

As for game, it has to be Assassins Creed for me.

Sweet choice, Same here, But I have been reading lots about it and it has received a lot of criticism over repetitiveness in the gameplay, i'm worried it might be a let down so i might go for COD:4 modern at the same time as a fall back option, lol.

Casino Royale a must! ;)

the reason why it is good to have a big hdd, is because some games coming out soon like Devil May Cry 4 have a MANDATORY 5gb hdd install to get rid of / decrease loading times

so those who are getting the 200gb hdd, great for thinking ahead :)
