Using a Mac pretty much eliminates those problems. Yeah I agree, it was just one of those 'things happening in lots of 3' - for my computer. It's a motherboard problem because when the 2 drives were setup as IDE everything worked fine. just the raid wouldn't see the drives.... that might not be right.. No, it was the drive that was faulty and the drive had the OS on it so fresh install and new drive fixed it. still mirrored now so all good.
