jboy88
Here is the Delivery details according to Beejean, I'm sure he won't mind me telling this, just as long as it isn't the price, which is a great savings on the RRP.Delivery Ship using Allied Express at the individual cost of the freight - no markup of freight Sydney customer can pickup from the shopfront Sydney deliver - $40 Outside Sydney - metro area - estimate $75 max for 40" tv (outside of Sydney each job would need to be quoted) Great work Beejean! Got a question though, with the 5 year warranty, what are the return policies with the retailer? Does it cover issues like backlightbleed, clouding dead pixels etc? Also, for buyers outside of Sydney, does the warranty cover pickup and redelivery? Or can it be sent to a local service center in each state? (i'm in adelaide) Cause if it doesnt cover pickup/delivery for repairs/replacement, sending back and forth might end up being very costly

shump
Interested in 46X, in/to Perth, my target price is $4200 with 5 year warranty. For my fifth post I thought I would explain how I reached $4200: 1. It is 20% off RRP ($4995) + $200 for extended warranty. When I shop for consumer electronics 20% off RRP is a good starting point, usually easily achieved but doesn't give away too much to the retailer. 2. It is also 5% lower than recent KDL46X2000 street prices (around $4400 incl 5 yr warranty). We would expect new models to be cheaper because of technological improvements and increased economies of scale. 3. It is roughly US street price ($2995 at B&H) + 10% for GST. I choose a large, reputable retailer here (i.e. A+ rated from streetprices.com) as it is not reasonable to compare prices from small dodgy US places if we're not going to buy from a small dodgy Australian place. (Or are we? :-) All of these are around $4200 which confirms it as a reliable target price. Hope that's useful for you when shopping around. Beejean, please PM me the info when you're ready. I could act as WA organiser if you like.

Pauly-G
Yes, definitely, I am just trying to generate some interest here, getting people attention, hopefully can get more people interested before they buy the product.I am keen to know how much people can get the tv for as well when it's widely available. Pre-order usually won't result in much price reduction as the retailer knows you are desperate to get one. Thanks for your feedback offshore, I am also keen to know more about GB from other people who have organized or involved in it. Hiya, i have 4000 in the bank waiting for the right deal on this new bravia series. I am interested in a 40" xbr or a 46" if you can get the price down enough. Have been following this thread and u are doing such a good job i thought i'd better get in on it. How do we find out about shipping to Brisbane, shipping insurance and a replacement guarantee in case of clouding/backlight bleed issues? It's hard to do it without seeing the TV's themselves but i am very confident in this line of tellies! I dont have five posts yet but my e-mail is p.goldston@student.qut.edu.au here is the gist: Pauly-G (Paul Goldston) XBR/3100 40" or a 3100 46" $4000 price range. Worried about cloding issues, warranty and shipping costs/insurance. Sign me up! p.s i just bough a ps3 with 11 games, 2 wireless controllers and a blu ray remote off e-bay for $1500!!! Stoked. The bravia should fit in nicely!

beejean
Will get back to you guys once I am off from work (those that i haven't pm or new request into the group) Anyway, I am looking at another deal with the help from another member of this forum. I guess we can get close to 50 Bravia by the look of it, and that is a huge bargain power. So be patient. I am not looking just at the price, even though that's the most important factor. Things to be considered including payment method, reliability of the vendor, stock availability and replacement / warranty issue. Getting harder to keep track of everyone and to pm everyone as the lists keep on increasing, haha. But that's a good thing. Hope I can makes everyone happy at the end of this

I'm getting excited buy the prospects of this group buy though. p.s did u know that some of the new tv's coming out soonish are going to have built in media center v.2 extenders (high definition streaming an 802.11n from ur desktop vista media center)...that sounds unreal for some of us non-xbox users. Do u remember when tv's were much less complicated lol. Check out september 7 - gizmodo.com p.s there are a couple of games i am going to sell off so i can buy war hawk and resistance...namely oblivian, nba live 2007 not sure yet thos cuz i gotta try em out lol (still in the post) p.p.s i'm trying to get my posts up so i am a registered member...sorry if it a lil off topic.
