Deltora Quest - The Adventure Begins

http://www.abc.net.au/tv/guide/abc3/201104...Deltora%20Quest

ABC3 7:10am Saturday, April 30 2011

Deltora Quest is based on the internationally best-selling book series by Emily Rodda, where the evil Shadow Lord has taken over the kingdom... and only three people can save it. Lief, Jasmine, and Barda have nothing in common - and everything to lose. They must embark on a perilous quest to recapture the seven lost gems of the magic Belt of Deltora. Only when the Belt is complete once more can the evil Shadow Lord be overthrown and the people of Deltora be free from tyranny.

During the first episode, The Adventure Begins, Lief declares to his parents that he's going to stop the Shadow Lord as he can no longer stand aside and do nothing. He has read all there is to know about the seven gems and the magic Belt of Deltora and he feels that now is the time to find them.

His father agrees and reveals the magic Belt of Deltora which he saved before helping the King and the pregnant Queen escape the Shadow Lord.

Once all the gems have been found and the Belt is complete, the heir to the throne will be summoned. His father gives Lief a map showing the dark, mysterious places where the Shadow Lord has hidden the gems, and his mother gives him a cloak made from special cloth.

Just before Lief is about to leave Barda, a family friend reveals his true identity - he is a former guard of the King and he will accompany Lief on this dangerous quest. They embark on their first quest: to find the gem hidden in the Forests of Silence.

thanks for this thread, i did know some of what you posted was on, like the studio ghibli on fox. and code geas on abc2

its a shame it seems like australia has gone backwards as every other country has moved forward with anime on tv. we still get so much childish anime on tv[some good , some bad]

maybe sbs should buy some rights again like the 90's. i actually think sbs had more anime on in the 90's than all of the stuff spread out over channels right now. [ neon genesis anyone?] [ gunsmith cats?]

also, cowboy bebop knocking on heavens doors was playing on scifi ... but i think it only played once lol

i am really impressed about channel 31 though, i am unable to pick it up where i live. but its really cool they got some very recent series playing. i wonder how much they paid for the rights @_@
