Chesty
The hunt for the 'Zodiac' killer is coming to high-def, with Paramount Home Entertainment announcing a summer Blu-ray and HD DVD release for the David Fincher thriller. Despite widespread critical acclaim, Fincher's meticulous serial killer docudrama failed to make much of a dent at the box office this past winter. However, all of the director's other efforts (including 'Se7en,' 'The Game' and 'Fight Club') have enjoyed a healthy afterlife on video, which would seem to bode well for 'Zodiac.' Paramount plans to street the flick on both next-gen formats July 24, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD at a suggested list price of $39.95 for each. The studio has not yet revealed specs or supplement details for 'Zodiac,' but we'll keep you posted as further details are announced. Source Zodiac was shot in hi def so should look fantastic. Not to mention its an awesome movie. However no doubt Paramount will give it the crappy audio treatment as they normally do.
Trigg
Given though that the setting was the 70's and the film look was dusty, I'd imagine that this will not be that spectacular on HD
bort
I'm a big fan of Finchers earlier work (although I thought Panic Room was awful) - so I'll be checking this out
zallapo
Just saw this last nite, great film. David Fincher has this genre by the balls. PQ should be nice, being shot on the Thompson Viper Digital camera (same cam used for Miami Vice and Collateral). I made sure I paid extra attention during the screening for signs of grain (which there was none at all) and clarity. Detail was pretty sharp aswell. Should be a decent transfer when it comes out.
