Garrye99 0
I have an NEC PX-42VR5W plasma and am unsure what screen size to use for watching digital tv. I have tried all of the 6 screen sizes and have settled for Anamorphic as the best even though the manual says that the "image is expanded in the horizontal direction". I have searched the forum with no luck in relation to my plasma but have noted many references to other brands where you can set the screen size to 16:9. Can anyone with an NEC advise me how they have set their plasma up. I also intend to contact NEC service next week but am hoping someone with this plama can solve my dilemma. AdrianW1503559681 0
Anamorphic = 16:9, both mean "image is expanded in the horizontal direction". The image data for both 16:9 enhanced Widescreen DVDs and SD digital transmissions is actually in a 4:3 shape and needs to be stretched sideways to make the aspect ratio correct. Just make sure your DVD player and your STB are in 16:9 mode.
