ENIGMA
Whilst i've got my hands full with TT plinths, i have been thinking about making some time next year, speaker cabinets for my Raven R2 tweeter and PHL Mid. I don't have Bass drivers as yet. I'm not sure if slate is a suitable material, as a speaker box is different to how a TT plinth works. Does anyone know whether this has been done before or if slate is suitable compared to traditional materials?
Guest
Build it and find out .The front baffle is going to be a !@#$ing nightmare . Or do what Nelson Pass did with the Rushmore . Cheers

Cheers I might have to build one & see, but it will be expensive to make, hope it is worth the trouble!
Guest
Hopefully the vibration from the driver's doesn't cause the slate to delaminate . How about an alloy front baffle painted in black pearl with an oiled slate cab . Have the bass driver in its own cabinet to reduce over all weight .
