billabong33
Yes I have windows media player classic and it will NOT play it. It says cannot playback format. Are thier any specialised programs designed just for this format or a Codec for Media player?
algarve7
Yes I have windows media player classic and it will NOT play it. It says cannot playback format. Are thier any specialised programs designed just for this format or a Codec for Media player? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you sure you have Media Player Classic (MPC) v6.4.8.4? It's not the same as Windows Media Player (Microsoft). MPC has a lot of extra specialised features that WMP doesn't have. Here's an easy place to get it: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_so...yer_classic.cfm Another great player is VLC Media Player. It can play just about anything under the sun. Even half downloaded video files. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Make sure you have FFDSHOW video filter installed. If you do have the right player, and it doesn't work it may just need a good codec. FFDSHOW decodes most streams. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_so...ers/ffdshow.cfm What I'm interested in is a player that has built in DxVA (Direct X Video Acceleration). It directs most of the processing of the video to the hardware -- basically the video card (if the video card supports DxVA that is, which most new ones do) rather than letting the CPU do all the work. When I use Media Player Classic it plays the .tp files, but not so well (a bit jerky) because it doesn't have DxVA (I think) so my CPU sits on 100%. Is it any different if you have a digital TV tuner card in the computer? Anyway, I hope that helps. Comments welcome...
