s3073887
I am a new plasma buyer will get mine delivered this Thursday. I have a few questions and would appreciate responses. Can channel logos/watermark cause burn-in? Am I to expect any pixel burn out on delivery? How many pixel burn out on delivery may warrant for a claim for replacement? How do I identify pixel burn-out? Many thanks in advance.
JoshH
I am a new plasma buyer will get mine delivered this Thursday. Welcome to the club I have a few questions and would appreciate responses. Can channel logos/watermark cause burn-in? In theory YES they can - in actual practice its very unlikley. Most stations now use watermarked logos instead of hard logos to help reduce burn in. Plasma technology has come a long way and its not as susceptible to burn in as it was a few generations ago. Just use common sense and dont leave static images on the screen for extended periods and you will be fine. Am I to expect any pixel burn out on delivery? No - you should have no dead pixels on delivery - if you do - ask for another screen. How many pixel burn out on delivery may warrant for a claim for replacement? IMO - any dead pixels is cause for replacement - but each manufacturer has different guidelines. Having said that I have seen NEC, Panasonic and Fuji replace screens with only one dead pixel. How do I identify pixel burn-out? Usually they get 'stuck' - on either red, green or blue - they show up like sore thumbs. If you do have a dead pixel - it will be black.
