Digital Centre in Melbourne

Alas, same story for me. I paid in full for a 58" Samsung TV, which their web site showed as in stock. A week later I had heard nothing. Emailed them, nothing. Emailed them again, nothing. Emailed them again, threatening to contact consumer affairs. Instant phone call back.

Rob explained the TVs were out of stock, Samsung couldn't keep up with demand, etc, it said clearly on the website this was a back order item (it did not, I have screen shots to prove it), more stock would be arriving on July 1st, he would contact me then with a firm delivery date.

1st of July went by. I emailed him on July 5th. No response. Emailed again July 6th. Got a reply saying Samsung had not delivered stock, new stock would be arriving on July 21st.

This would be over a month after my order, and too late to apply for Samsung's 3D TV promotion.

Waiting for these guys means I have lost the opportunity to buy from another retailer, and missed out on the Samsung promo.

My advice: Shop elsewhere, pay a little extra, and be confident you are dealing with someone who keeps his promises, and delivers goods as purchased.

DITTO. I got the 58c7000 but not in stock yet. I just rang up and spoke with Julie, she is nice however cant get any answers. I purchased the TV (in full) 3 weeks ago, and I keep hearing the same old story, next week etc etc. BUT, you shouldnt miss out on the Samsung 3D Offer. Provided you paid in full by 30 June 2010, you are eligable to claim it. Believe me as I have just done it. If you need anything I have emails from Samsung regarding Digital Centre and the offer. There customer service has been OK, they have been friendly, however, this delay is getting beyond a joke now. I dont know if its something to do with then being part of a large buying group and having to divide each delivery etc. Alls I know is that there are people waiting who purchased in MAY!!! So you and me both have a long wait on our hands.

Cheers

You do not need to receive your TV in order to claim the FREE bonus. As long as you claim within 14 days from the date of the invoice you can still register this week and advise Samsung of the S/N when you get it. Read the Terms and Conditions on the Samsung promo page carefully.

If you get your money back you cannot order it from another retailer and claim the bonus. Instead, ask them to resend you an invoice dated June 30th, showing paid in full and register this weekend. I have done the same thing and my claim has been approved.

Cheers

Thanks. I know I don't need the TV to claim the promo. I do need the serial.

The Samsung terms and conditions say that consumers can put the serial in after Juy 14th, and that such applications 'will be considered.' But whatever, the application with serial and receipt must be completed and received by Samsung before 5pm July 29th.

I told Digital Centre I wasn't too bothered by the delay (although it was annoying) and that as long as they could guarantee to get me the serial number and tax invoice in time to complete the promo requirements I would be happy to continue the sale. I didn't even get the courtesy of a reply.

Over on Whirlpool, somebody posted an email from Samsung saying that the 14th/29th cut off dates do not apply to those still waiting for the TV, in Samsung's exact words "You will be eligible for this promotion no matter how long it takes for you to receive your TV.". Here's the post with the Samsung reply posted:

If you still unsure, try and get Samsung to send you this email - they send out these standard emails to anyone who wants one, if you can reach them on the phone that is. Try both of the phone numbers, ask then what happens when the 29th cut off date passes and you still don't have the TV, and when they say it's all fine, ask them to send you an email confirming this (they'll probably as for your claim number now so they can get access to your email address). It's always good to have something in writing.

To all waiting

The waiting and frustrations are really not worthy the $100 or so saving.

Cancel the order for a full refund and get the product somwhere else.

Digital Centre FAQs says that you are entitled to a full refund if product is out of stock.

Keep in mind that your warranty starts on a purchase date, so many of us have already lost 2 or 3 months of warranty.

I'm sure that any big retailer can give you the same price and extended warranty as DC, show them your receipt from DC

and ask to match it.

I wouldn't be worried about missing out on Samsung promotion if you cancel the order now

because Samsung will start another one as soon as current one expires.

They just can't afford to sell without promotions. It boosts sales and they can keep up with competition

like Sony, Panasonic.

So I'm sure they will start a new promo with same or updated products

I'm canceling my order on Monday, have had enough of false promises. I could be enjoying my purchase for the past 2 months.

DC doesn't deserve to do business with them

went in this week, there were really good and answered all my questions with no problems,

so the facts, there are to up mid may of orders(on the samsung ps50c7000), i ordered mine first week of june and there are 19 orders ahead of me

there should be some more coming in next week. not sure on the number atm

so if you ordered in the last month expect to wait a while, shipments come in every 2 weeks or so.

samsung supposedly are getting a shipment this week, which they will distribute among all the stores, this will take a couple of weeks

i hope this helps, i think patience and calm is the key now, world cups over so the only thing im waiting on is the bonus offer

Wish I had done a look up on DigitalCentre before I made the stupid decision to order.

THEY GREY IMPORT PRODUCTS.

I ordered a Marantz SR7005 AV Reciever, rang them to confirm they have stock, and how long it will take to ship. Was that they did and that it usually ships in 3 days.

What a load of crap. now been 9 days, will not tell me when the goods will arrive. Have contacted my bank to advise that I am contesting the payment.

Stupid thing is that when you order they send you what they call an AML. You have to go to the Post Office show you credit card and Drivers license and get the guy at the Post Office to validate your ID. I can not do this right now as I am recovering from major knee surgery, I rang them to advise that I couild not meet this requirement, but they still put the charge on my credit card.

DO NOT BUY ANTTHING FROM THEM UNLESS YOU GO TO THE SHOP AND DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE THE GOODS.

I am contacting Today Tonight as I consult with Channel 7 and are suggesting that they do a story on Gray imports and will provide details for Digitalcentre.

I have also sent an email to Marantz USA and also Yamaha Japan advising of the bad name this dodgie organisation is giving thier products.

Will also lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs.

Spread the word on all the AV sites.

Cheers

HI, a big thanks to all! :D

I was going to buy a project from these guys but between whirlpool and this forum I have been convinced otherwise. Is there a list of really bad places to deal with I am setting up a HT and want to avoid the head ache?

Wife would love there to be some problems so she can shut down the dream!! :o

There's a squillion vendors out there. I don't know of a list of "bad" vendors. You might be better off telling us where you're located and asking for suggestions of "good" ones in your area.
