Owen
Best, The differences you observed, like digital artefacts, blackness, colour saturation have nothing to do with a difference in resolution. Also the way your STB downconverts HD and the way your display handles and displays the various inputs has a large effect on the final result, so valid comparisons between SD and HD are problematic. at best. A 76cm SD TV showing FULL PAL SD resolution and a 76cm HD TV of identical quality showing full 1080i resolution should look almost identical at 2.5 meters , all else being equal. If there is a significant difference, it is not due to the resolution of the displays but other problems or inconsistencies. Regards, Owen
