First 1500c I've seen with an all black platter.

They usually have a silver ring at the top and bottom of the platter.

Looks good all black though.

New arm also  for it. A fully tricked out rb300 with incognito wiring, an underslung counterweight screw vtf adjustment and metal arm base with a really granular vta adjustment. Sadly my vtf scale ran out of battery so have to install my good cartridge some other time

Lots of big $$ setups in here.

Here's my setup inherited from my father a few years ago as he had switched to digital only.

Denon DP-1200 w/ Denon DL-103.

In the last month I moved from Sydney to Bright in Victoria and rented an unfurnished house. The first trip down in my Astra wagon I filled it with a mattress, cooking utensils, loo roll, the relatively important stuff. The second journey down was the most important stuff of all. My Tessa chair, study system and a box of around 80 albums out of the 2500 odd back in NSW- the loungeroom set up needs a bigger wagon. So here I am with bugger all furniture apart from the Tessa but I have the hifi. The second tier hifi but the turntable is an SME Model 10 so ain't too shabby. Now 18 years old and still perfection. Cartridge is a Phase Tech P-3 Alexandrite that has been retipped twice so has had a great life and sounds terrific. The DLC coating has started to wear from me using the front of the cartridge to cue up but sonically it's all there.

Social distancing has given me time to kick-start my open frame Orpheus Silex project. Still a lot of work to do need to put some new belt and trying to sort out some rattling wheel noise. Tonearm is grace unipivot. The plan is to make this my mono turntable

I have a couple

1. - encel Sugden connoisseur BD1 with audio technica AT1009 tonearm and Denon Dl103 cartridge on an ebony headshell.

2. - Pro-ject essential II with ortofon Om10

3. Diy Blackwood plynth turntable. Has diy acrylic platter and spindle from a pioneer pl-41. Tonearm is an audio technica At1005 mkII. Had a motor from an 80's sansui table but motor cooked so is currently out of action. Need to source a new motor to get this going again interested suggestions of offers of motors. Been thinking about stripping the pro-ject and mounting tonearm where motor was(dual tonearm) and stealing the motor and crating a side plynth with its motor mounted for platter drive.

Very nice collect.

Do you like the sound of the Om10? What do you think it doesn’t do well?

I do like the om10 it's detailed in the the highs but not as pleasant and musical as the Denon cart, not as well suited to the higher mass AT tonearms I have.

Technics SL1000MK3D  - 1981 Technics top dog integrated table.

SP10MK3, Obsidian plinth, P Mount version of the Technics EA-100 mk2 tonearm and the legendary

EPC-P1000CMK4 cartridge.  no adjustment required on the cartridge - just plug it in and tighten the screw with any P Mount cartridge - what could be easier.

Still sounds darn good, so must have been amazing back in the day.

Pretty sure it's colour or plating - the entire arm/arm board is one piece,v and not that heavy.

   The actual arm is titanium.

 Cheers

Hi Ben

can you say a bit about the 1500C, now that you’ve (presumably) been living with it for a few weeks, at least? I’ve had a range of belt-drive decks in the past of the pro-ject and rega variety but I think my next ‘table needs to be direct drive and I’m drawn to this one. If I’m right in assuming it’s not your first deck, how does it compare to what you’ve had previously? Any quirks or caveats?

Thanks, Simon

OK I'm jealous,  I would love to hear that combo. I was always biased against DD turntables until I bought my first SP10 a year or so ago. This is the last TT I'll ever own.

My current setup. SP10 in a bentonite plinth with DIY linear tonearm and acrylic mat.
