skooter
LMAO Yes sorry her bro is Ash. But her fiance aint Tim. its Adrian that's news to me Anyway... went to Hardly Normal today and got a Lenoxx STB-500 and confirmed my suspicions - no DTV where we are. Maybe on the other side of town out over the range. Looks like we'll just get some nice digital tv over at the coast next time we go for a holiday
skooter
Well, Eidsvold and Miriam Vale are now in the reception locator with ABC timeline to be advised. Sucks, because both those towns combined have less people than Monto waiting on reply email from ABA. . . . . . . oh... hmm.. Monto is in Western Districts section for some reason ABC - TBA WIN - TBA SEVEN - TBA TEN - 2009 !! At least I have a nice expensive doorstop now

skooter
Reply from ABA... The digital channel plan for the Monto site on Mulgildie Plateau has just been approved by the ABA and a press release on the DCP for additional repeaters sites in the Rockhampton and Wide Bay areas will be available on the ABA website in the next week. The DCP is a precursor to the implementation of digital services in an area but doesn't necessarily indicate that they are about to commence. Unfortunately the only indication of a commencement date for Monto is from Southern Cross of June 2009. It appears the other broadcasters are yet to consider a timeframe for implementing services at Monto. -------------------------- Looks like I'll have to put my aerial on to a 60ft pole and get signal from Biggenden
raby
Seen the Broadcast Australia 4X4 driving around Pialba in the Bay on Saturday and had a VHF aerial & rotator checking I assume DTV siginal strength so maybe an updated coverage map on the way I hope
rkelly
if they think that the signal is acceptable, maybe they wont bother even upgrading Ghost Hill and everyone in the bay can use goonaneman

gaz042
Hi all, I'm just new at this digital tv stuff !! Just forked out big $$ for HD tv and STB. I live in a unit on the Espalnade (Scarness). The aerial on the building is pointed at Ghost Hill and is only set up to receive UHF signal !! Has anyone heard when digital transmissions will commence from Ghost Hill ?? I was told by an antenna installer guy today that transmissions would commence by the end of the year !! Don't think I'll hold my breath though !! If Ghost Hill doesn't commence this year, I will have to do battle with the Body Corp for a new antenna system pointed toward Mt Goon...... the mountain ! mylesau
whats that in vpid and apid?Plus i got khz and not mhz <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've updated the table above with audio and video PID's. Frequencies are in MHz see DBA Reception Locator (1 MHz = 1000 KHz)... If you use TSReaderLite you should only have to enter the Frequency and Bandwidth (7MHz) - all other details will be supplied by TSReaderLite. Hope it helps. Guest OzzieMike
Hi All - Brand New Member so forgive me for acting dumb - but has this Forum died - or can I use it? Anyway here is my problem: I have just moved to Hervey Bay - into a 2 year old 6 storied Block of units called Tingeera (On the Esplanade in Pialba) It is run by a Body Corporate - of which I am NOT a member - as I am not an owner. We have a 2 year old Official Austar MDU installation which poses problems: 1. It seems the number of cables - and maybe the Austar Rooftop equipment is at fault? 2. BUT NOT the electronic switching (on every second floor) which is according to all accounts perfect 3. Three seperate Austar technicians (after 3 separate attempts) cannot install a MyStar 4. The problem is apparently - although there are 4 SEPERATE CABLES to EACH UNIT - there is ONLY 1 CABLE leading to each of the 4 WALL SOCKETS in each Unit 5. Each room cable - is then split by a (special) wall plug into 2 outlet connectors - 1 for Austar & 1 for a TV Aerial 6. Apparently having only 1 CABLE per Room Outlet - is a major problem - because (the Austar installer tells me) only the vertical or the horizontal channels can be selected by the MyStar (AND the electronic switchgear) at any one time 7. This then, apparently, means that everyone has to watch either the V or the H channels at the same time? 8. Currently, those that pay for the Austar service - use an Austar ATLAS STB to receive - ONLY the 5 standard SD Free to Air channels - AND a limited (Dictated by Body Corporate) Austar service My questions are: A. Can I receive the HD-Free-to-Air channels - using a NON-Austar HD STB fitted to a Wall outlet TV Airial socket? B. OR does Austar control (by their equipment on the roof) whether they send the HD-Free-to-Air channels down the cable? C. If so which HD STB should I be looking at (seems cheap is usually a problem) D. In our Unit - there are 2 outlets (in the wall) opposite each other - could I use these 2 cables to run a MyStar? E. This would mean I at least get the ability to Record and use the MyStar technology in at least 1 room?
