Foxtel on 2 TV's from 1 STB

Recommended Posts

An AV sender should do the job. Two tips:

1. Buy it from somewhere where you can take it back if it doesn't work. It is affected by walls etc

2. Get the 5.8 ghz one rather than the cheaper 2.4. The 5.8 is much less prone to interference from cordless phones etc

Hi there,

In my living room I am running Foxtel IQ2 via HDMI to my Full HD TV.

Sound back down from TV via Optical to AV Receiver (No HDMI inputs on my older receiver)

I have recently received my Bonus 22" Sammy which I would like to put in the kitchen running purely off the IQ2 box in the living room. Don't even need/want to use the tuner.

Can I split the picture (sound would be good but not imperetive) maintaining HD picture quality on both TV's. I certainly dont want to sacrifice picture quality on my high end TV in the living room.

The living room and kitchen are quite close. Less than 10m. I undersatnd I will be watching the same channel on both TV's.

Cheers for any help!

I've been recommending these where a Pace 420 has been replaced with Pace 480 (with no RF out - but with SCART and HDMI)...

Not wireless but they do work well.

http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QC3685 <-- not necessarily the cheapest option - this one almost makes multi-room attractive for one extender. Works well in houses with structured Cat 5 cabling.

Hi Guys,

The best solution for foxtel in another room is to use a HDMI/component to Cat5 Extender eg: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HDMI-and-IR-over-Ca...=item2a038a8039

This also has an ir repeater. I currently have component and RCA with IR over cat5. Have been using it for almost a year with no problems at all and I get Full HD and sound in the other room. You only need to run a couple of CAT 5 cables between the rooms.

Hope this helps

Aruna

Just wondering does the IR work well with Foxtel boxes? I know a lot of repeaters have trouble with the signals
