aruby
I have contacted a US company, who will individually post out MX500's at a discount if we can get 50 people together! The price isn't fixed as yet (up for some negotiating still) but it looks likely to be around $120-140. Could people post their interest here. If we can get close to 50, then maybe we can get a group order! There are no catches as far as I can see thus far! But more info to follow! Carrera1963
Don't forget that a box of 50 remotes will attract some customs fees... GST plus maybe some import duty, plus clearance fees, etc..
Spoonfed
got a link where i can check them out?

aruby
See the thing was ... as I said in the first post - each remote will be sent individually to each household!

Spoonfed
Was your estimate Australian or US dollars? If each item is individual will it still incur a customs and duty fee being a such a low $ amount? I guess GST will still apply
supraman
As Spoonfed asked, was the price in AUS$ or US$, and did it include postage? You can order an invididual MX-500 from bluedo for US$130 including postage, and no customs or others charges are levied. That's the all-up landed cost. So the above questions become quite relevant. PS: I already have an MX-500 so count me out John
aruby
The $140ish will be AU dollars and postage included! But as I said, the price isn't finalized, and is still up for negotiating ... We'll see!
Steerpike
mmmm.. will check with my 'Dept. of Finance' but I like the sound of ~AU$140 (or better). At the moment - count me in. Are you waiting for the numbers to build, or looking at specific 'end of offer date'?
Spoonfed
At that price with postage, im in

PaulP33
Me too, and my brother might be interested in one as well (I've sent hin the manual and he is considering it).
aruby
At this stage, 50 is the minimum number. There will be no order unless we can get to 50. At this stage 44 to go!
dvduser
You only mention just the MX-500, but are you also interested in bringing in the MX-500+IRClone Package as shown on BlueDo ??. There may be a group that is interested in that option due to the ability to program the MX-500 from a PC as well (i.e. getting discrete codes for devices into the unit from ccf files that can be imported into the MX500Editor)
Steerpike
thanks dvduser - you read my mind , I would also be interested in the IRClone package as well. Would this be available as an added extra?
aruby
I'm sure there will be a number of combinations available. I'll wait till there are closer to 50 and then give all the options!
supraman
Well let me just say that as an MX-500 owner for about 6 months, it is the BEST money you will ever spend on your home theater - it's a wonderful product, so if you're sitting on the fence, join in and get a bargain! Spoonfed
Why not put the question up in http://robdvd.radfiles.net/index.php while many ppl would frequent both, perhaps some that dont visit DBA would be interested. And then there's www.htcentral.net Given its not "self promotion" and only aiming to get a good deal for forum users, i doubt either forum should object
m00j
Any possibility of getting the MX-700 instead?

aruby
I'm sure any combination MAY be possible ... just put your possible intention here ... once we get 50, I'll get final prices and people can opt in or out ... There is no commitment yet ... just trying to work out if we can get to 50!
