The Alpha cables are generally used for analogue sources and the Vx for digital sources. The Vx cords contain Shunyata's proprietary FeSi 1000 Noise Reduction Compound and were $100 more expensive at retail. Notwithstanding this these cables can be used wherever your preferences lie. The Alpha power cords use Shunyata's well-known complex hand weaved Helix geometry.
The ultimate in high end performance!
Do you own an exceptional piece of audio equipment? It deserves to be fed by an Anaconda power cord. Why? Because an Anaconda will improve the sonic performance of even the highest grade components by giving them access to virtually limitless and exceptionally clean AC power. Effortless dynamic range, stunning transparency and exceptional purity of tone, the Anaconda is unlike any power cord on the market. An enormous 8 Ga cable, Anaconda uses 13 ultra-high purity copper conductors hand-braided into the patented Helix geometry and terminated with proprietary Venom AC plugs; a combination which yields a cable lightweight and flexible enough to be wrapped around your arm, yet powerful enough to be used on even the most demanding high-current amplifiers!
“Adding [Anacondas] to an already high-performance system may well prove to be a more cost-effective sonic upgrade than replacing components.” –Paul Bolin, Stereophile August 2004
Patented 6x6 Helix geometry
13 conductors with an 8 gauge aggregate

In average condition, see pictures below.
Since I purchased it I have replaced a power tube and been through and done some recapping. Mainly cathode bias capacitors, a few interstage coupling caps.
For more info see http://www.tube-amps.net/Sansui_Tube_Era_Products.htm
I have it connected to some small Denon speakers to demonstrate it works.
Honestly I'd forgotten just how good it sounds and how loud 15W can go.
My neighbour dropped in this morning after some advice on selling some vintage speakers for his parents.
Turns out they are a pair of Sansui SP 3500. Said to be in good working and cosmetic condition.
There is some good feedback on these speakers which were apparently designed / manufactured by JBL for Sansui?
I'm now interested in purchasing myself and pair with a entry level valve amp for something different - efficiency is 96 dB. I've never had large displacement speakers before.
Here is pic grabbed off hifiengine I think.
Depending on condition I was considering ~ $200 for an easy local sale. If I don't grab them I'd like to help the owners out - they're good people.
.....so any advice on value or general experience welcomed.
I've got an old Sansui AU5900 thats in lovely condition except the relay has died on me i.e. no 'click' when you turn the amp on. Manually toggling the relay (with a hell of a lot of insulation) results in glorious glorious sound so I'm planning to unsolder and replace it. I'm not sure where to find a replacement though. The relay is marked as an Omron Type MY02 and also has -0-Y23 printed on it's plastic cover. Since google has been of very limited assistance, can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement?
