jeromelang
Fabric materials (such as materials usually used for curtains) touching audio cables/power cords has been known to change the cables' dielectric properties - thereby changing their sound - creating unpleasant sonic artifacts. Speakers generally sound better when their stands/spikes are coupled directly to the floor, rather than on carpets. Possible to pull the carpet backwards so that they are just in front of the speakers/stands? (this also allows the speaker cables to avoid contact with the carpets.) The same goes for the audio components rack area - check to make sure the interconnects are not touching the curtains. (I may be wrong, but...) I think resonance isolation is probably more effective if the bottom platform is resting directly on the floor.
