Soundscape
Felicia Atkinson & Jefre Cantu Ledesma - Limpid as the Solitudes "To be appreciated, «Limpid As The Solitudes» requires you to immerse yourself as if in a hot spring, letting the sounds float over you and alter your perceptions and memories." Fair enough.

Soundscape
First up tonight it was Sunn O))), White 2 remastered and reissued on perfectly pressed vinyl. Followed by Ellen Fullman & Okkyung Lee, The Air Around Her. A terrific sounding live recording, but the vinyl pressing is marred by a very slightly off-centred Side A, which you can't get away with with drone. Wonderful improvised performances.

I have the vinyl on order and need to check if there's a 24 bit release available. Speaking of 24 bit - that's just dropped to my hdd for the new amon tobin which I'm also waiting on the vinyl for. Given the crazy prices of vinyl now - richard devine's sort/lave cost just south of $70 - I'm not sure whether to keep buying it or just go full hq digital. Rhetorical question, really, as the ritual brings me joy.
metal beat
Om – Advaitic Songs. cut @ 45rpm over 2LP's - sounds great. they call this doom metal but to me it sounds more like a hard core Dead Can Dance.

I'm getting to that point too. The new Bill Callahan (not drone related, sorry) is out and this is the longest I have delayed getting any of his albums in my life- $60 is just too much for a record. But I know eventually I will crack. Edited August 11, 2019 by ericd
Soundscape
It's a magnificent album, no doubt. My favourite is Lleyfdu Ljosinu, only on digital due to its length. Hildur hasn't released a solo album for a few years, but she's been busy composing soundtracks.

Southern Lord has gone too far into marketing gimmickry with their limited coloured pressings and high prices imo

Soundscape
Ariel Kalma - Nuits Blanches AU Studio 116 https://transversales.bandcamp.com/album/nuits-blanches-au-studio-116 This is not a reissue nor is it brand new music, but old tapes from the 70s rediscovered and released for the first time. Originally recorded when Ariel was working as a studio tech at the legendary GRM studio 116 and would make opportunistic recordings when another artist cancelled a booking. This album will make my eoy list.

Monk
I was debating on posting this in the Sunday night ambient thread, but I think it did have just that little bit too much... oomph, to be completely ambient. So drone it is. I like this album. Didn't like them so much live the time I saw them, but this is cool. https://omahara.bandcamp.com/album/omahara-3 Then undr with Old Light. This is probably heading more towards ambient though. Even if it's got that metalish/fuzzy/thing going on. https://undr.bandcamp.com/album/old-light Then Bongripper with some very restrained and laid back sounds. Hmm, restrained maybe the wrong word. It's not held back. It is what it is. It's just not as heavy as their other stuff. Nice. https://bongripper.bandcamp.com/album/glaciers And I just saw undr released something in December. This I would say is ambient. Cool. https://undr.bandcamp.com/album/portal
