Why is that piece asymmetrically positioned to It's slot?

Asked on behalf of my OCD :D

All my gear except amps is on the right side of the room.  The preamp is slightly tilted towards me so I can see it a little easier from the listening seat,  especially the volume dial. ?

Extremely quiet, as in no noise whatsoever and the volume control is almost too much fun to use - very analog un-SS sounding preamp with the bass control SS pre's do so well.

yea, the speakers are 200kg per side and I can literally move/fine tune the speakers literally with one hand - the Herbie sliders are awesome.

I've had my hifi in pieces for 2+ years now.  Still a few components to setup... but wow, I forgot how wonderful good sounding music is.

Eva Cassidy on the Mistral LS3/5a sounding quite wonderful. I'm pretty impressed with these small speakers. I'm going to have to start saving for a pair of genuine LS3/5a now.

I really like your setup. Just basic, clean and nice. Didn't that model PMC slope backwards like the others?

Thanks Blakey, I agree :) The only change I’m wanting to make is a bigger room... hopefully soon.

Yep, they have a decent backwards slant,  similar to other PMC’s. Photos a little deceptive.

Hey HiFi Man - that even sounds good through my computer!

How do you find switching between the McIntosh and the Sansui - is there a night and day difference?

Thankyou :) McIntosh 240 is a special one for me. It always stands separate from all other units I have compared. There is some sweetness in listening to MC240, it delivers a fast and never fatiguing sound.

Even though 40WPC valve unit enough and more, when compared to AU20000, SX1250 & Marantz 2600 I can feel the increased output power in sound from those bad boys ...

I think the real comparison of  Sansui AU20000 should be made to Pioneer SX1250. SX1250 is fully recapped and in better than brand new condition. AU20000 is with all original 40+ years electrolytic caps... I should compare them in parallel once AU20000 is fully recapped and serviced.

Below videos are recorded today, Pioneer SX1250 singing :)

Luckily it has been a rather mild/cooler summer this year. Thanks to La Niña.

Zero percent is here but I’m not sure a 50year loan is possible.

@dcathro @mwhouston

For an audio system with a degree of fidelity and an ability to create an effective disco setting far better than most speakers on this thread, i present to you the Sony V90DW.  Not only does it have a high driver count, it also has contextual lighting and gesture controls.

Does chromecast and spotify.  Has on-board DSP and a guitar input.

Leave the silver coated, rhodium plated, noise modulated "HiFi" alone and just enjoy the music.

I like the remote that comes with this unit, although it does seem to be a bit antisocial at times
