It appears Tidal doesn’t have that album. Others of his not that one though?

It's available on Qobuz though.

Glad I heard it and heard of him. I have a few lined up onTidal to have a listen to. The ones I’ve heard so far are sort of jazz funk.

As we are all about the music and the SQ I thought I’d post some sound of my system. It’s a crappy iPhone video which will be lacking in a bit of bass, but I think it will convey the general sound.

Edit: recording sounded pretty bad, so I’ve deleted it.

Keeping my ears busy while doing housework.

Pioneer SC-LX58

Orpheus loudspeakers on all 9 channels.

2x Vonyx 18" subwoofers.

Belkin PureAV SC14 power console.

Best I could do on a tight budget but it sounds amazing.

The Pioneer PL-50A turntable is currently being repaired so I can start a vinyl collection.

Very nice amp and CD player the Destiny’s., excellent sound quality for the money. I regret selling mine, should have kept it as a rainy day amp...

Very nice timber cabinet too !

Sheesh, the Yamamoto amp sounds very good with the AM RT-2 preamp. Just have to replace those old 6H30's in the pre for good measure.

And yes that's a can supporting the bowing bottom shelf. I've just moved so the rack is still in storage!

Lovely looking speakers and stands. Are the stands part of the speaker package? Looks very well matched

Is it my eyes, or is your middle self bending a bit under the weight of the equipment?

Thanks. They are JM Reynaud Offrande Supreme V2 which are probably unknown here in Oz as I don't think there was ever an importer here. These speakers are famous in Europe and the US. The stands do come as part of the package.

Yeah the shelf is bowing and supported by a can lol. I've just moved to Brisbane and stuff, like the rack, is still in storage.

So, please if I may, no offence just very interested, how does an Aussie with the name of Ben end up with French speakers?

No offence taken. My first set of real speakers were JM Reynaud Cantabile.  I was living in NZ as there is an agent for the brand there. These guys really know how to make great sounding speakers. This particular pair were the last pair of Offrande's made and were owned by Bob Neil who owns Amherst Audio and is the JM Reynaud agent for the US. I spotted these and paid to have them shipped here which cost a lot!

Great! In fact, I've heard of JM Reynaud - came across the name when I lived in Belgium a few years ago and was searching on European made speakers. Yes, they are well known in Europe - but you are the first one here that I have come across to own these.

........and congratulations on the move to Brisbane!

Yes, you would know them from Europe 👍

I’d bet these are the only pair of Offrande’s in Oz 😊

Never thought about using egg cartons, but very interesting and cool idea. Looks like your dog is helping you to make sure speaker is well isolated from the floor.

Do they improve overall SQ on Mission?

Nah man...  Only used for adjusting the height...  until I get some stands organised.

The black and red stands are just a little too high for these.

The speakers are active.

Tri amped internally with an active crossover, 200wpc dedicated for the bass driver , 100wpc for the soft dome mid and 50wpc for the tweeter.

The setup comes from my old Duntech days.

In the hand written portion of the Crown Prince manual John Dunlavy strongly recommended setting the speakers up along the long wall as widely spaced as possible with the distance between the speakers greater than the distance that you are from them.

Also to get them as far away from walls and corners as possible and to toe them in so that they cross over about half a metre in front of the listening position.

Worked a treat with the big dunnies and I've been doing it with every other speaker I've had in the room.

Interesting you are raising these. They’re not a tall speakers by any means but my staging doesn’t seem low out of my pair of 782 and I only sit back about 3m from mine.

would be keen to know why you have them sitting high like that.

p.s. mine are rosewood but I think the all black colour way looks much smarter.

Hi Winno.

I've been trying different heights with them...  as with all my new arrivals, I begin with the tweeters as close to ear level as possible.

Last night I did place them on the floor, and they did sound good.  I'm about 2 - 3 metres distance too.

I'm also playing around with a new sub, and changing between main speakers...  I'm now running the Energy C5's...  and about to try the JBL 4301B's.

I'll give the Mission's another run, after work this arvo...  and get back to you, re imaging etc.

Great photo, would not look out of place in a scene from a Ridley Scott movie.

Bit of haze in the room for rays of the sun to catch and the ceiling fan rotating slowly........

Can imagine this system putting out some serious noise and definition

Did you just buy these? They're another Putzeys design. What's your verdict?
