Bugger I want to try the Accuphase as well now ?

Highly recommended or pay me a visit when you find time. Bring the Pandora to be reassured.....!

Should you ever be seduced to Accuphase flagship gears...., I have established a procedure for your own safety

1. Start planning your approval process compliance to WAF,

2. Consult your CFO with WAF compliant application,

3. Pending approval, provisional for off loading your lifetime investment to neutralise negative gearing from ATO,

4. Bring that suitcase or transaction detail when doing in-house audition,

5. Facilitate your own gtg with local audiophile(s) to evaluate/validate that investment,

6. Stay COVID free in that confinement until 18th May 2020.

Hehehe... Just kidding. They are not that expensive when compare to other made/Vendors from European/American.

Good to hear you enjoyed the C-3850 as much as you did.

I'm certainly happy with my lowly C-2850.

Maybe Tasso should have brought his A-200s as well so you could order some new power amps at the same time. ?

Good luck with the CFO.

I'd love to come over for a listen when it's up and running.

I suggest you buy the preamp first, then buy the equalled amount fashionable, bling bling life long investment for your CFO. That way will get approval fast track and also have a safer return on investment ?

And yes I will bring the gear over for you to try. If not this weekend then next one guaranteed.

I think Tasso is fully aware of my firm position, and the biased love affair I had for the Gryphon poweramps. Never the less, I am ready to be proven otherwise.?

Have the opportunity today listening to the Absolare Altius preamp! Whoaaa...., it is truly a musical preamp.... The micro-dynamic is simply jaw dropping. I got to hear more of those little ambience sound...., those often veiled by some others preamp in this setup...! Most of all, the tonality of sq Is simply so engaging.... OH Man...,  it reminded me so much of my good days with valves but with much better resolutions and clarity!

Many thanks to @Aperalim for this rare opportunity.. Accompany by @angst46, whom has previously been here prior my room treatment. Hopefully they can post their own observations/feedback with this experience....?!  Thanks again Gents..

Was my pleasure Chanh and many thanks for the opportunity to visit your truly beautiful room for the first time today and bring my Absolare Altius preamp along.  The sound in your room is excellent – an exquisite blend of the strengths of your system and your room with its very handsome and  effective acoustic treatments (very effective acoustic treatments as confirmed by @angst46, who had visited previously).  When we inserted the Absolare into the system I felt it brought the performance to a new level which I could have very happily stayed on all night listening to : )

Certainly looking forward to visiting you again Chanh – congratulations and thanks for a great listening room experience today.

Cheers

Chris

It was an absolute pleasure to visit Chanh today and listen to the fantastic improvements he has made in his listening room with acoustic treatments and the beautiful Gryphon mono-blocks. A great effort on Chanh's behalf that has resulted in an extremely neutral sounding room and a very attactive litstening area - an expansive soundstage and wonderful detail are just two of the virtues of this very clean system.

Chanh's acoustic treatments have inspired me to do more with my own room.

The Altius pre-amp synergised perfectly with the Gryphons and allowed Chanh's superb front end to excel.

Great to see such effort rewarded!

Thanks Chris for your assistance with SR-Orange fuses.... I must confess, something is seriously wrong with my hearing...., and shall require the immediate urgent attention from the medical specialist!!

It can’t be..., fuses can never possibly be enhancing the SQ in my setup!! That’s not possible..., but why I could hear better SQ?! Arghhhh!!!! :emot-bang::emot-bang::wub:

And yes of course they will improve after many days of burning in.... that goes without saying eh : )

It is an inexpensive delusion to entertain and it is reassuring to know you are not alone, Chris and I share the delusion, a "folie a trois"  and just about the cheapest significant upgrade you can do!

Was a fantastic gtg today... Seeing faces for the first time......, finally. Got the chance to listen to all flagship preamps here......! ?

The only drawback was time.... Never seems enough when we’re having good time.... I seriously wish time can stay still so the enjoyment could last satisfactory length.....

Some hard decisionS need be made...., and it is simply not easy hey! It’s like, the more you know, the least you realise you actually knowing it! ?

Never the less, I have shortlisted down to two preamps.... One is significantly more coins then other....! ?

Many thanks to all for your kindness and time..., this arvo!

Any thoughts on your observations today??

I observe you have enough space for me to camping in the room and I plan to do so tonight ?

I like the size of the space so you can easily reproduce the original music. A clear separation of the instruments in the classical are just sensational.

I wouldn’t  call the C-2850 lowly by any account !  It has similar sound and characteristics of the 3850 and Accuphase can also fit it with a phono stage as an option.  And Accuphase go all out in the finish department with that stunning timber case.

I have good news and also the not so good news w.rt my new chosen preamps.
Good news is there is an even better Preamps then Accuphase C-3850. The bad news is I can’t afford it! ?

RRP here in Au at $55,000.00....., could be higher if our exchange rate compromises in future. It has been a Serious struggle for me with sleeping disorder...., as the direct result from constant evaluations in how to promote my organ on the transplant market....?! ?

No need to spend $55k to get a state of the art preamp.

Under $5k will do it now imo.

No gold finish or rosewood panels though.

John Atkinsons measurements and comments at the end are particularly interesting.

Whoa... looks like a good preamps and WAF friendly too. Wonder anyone in AU has experienced?  I particular interested in white hissing sound at all volume level.
will do some digging...!

thanks Mark.

At least it’s released before you buyING the 3850, not after!  Well thinking of that it should be released after you buying it so I can get a half priced second hand 3850 and keep half of my organ safe ?

such a bad weather, cannot come to your place, sigh
