If there's not a grand that could be trimmed off I'd be surprised.

I wont pay more than a $1k for UHD LED/OLED.

TV screen technology is shifting at a rapid rate.

These kick a...se  SOTA SONIQ 42" are awesome value.   These are on 24/7 for almost 2.5 yrs and have never had an issue.....

They even get calibrated to print!   :thumb:

whats there to whinge if there's a bit of digitisation on moving object, because these are around the $600 2.5yrs prior....  who cares!

Tell me where I can get it for $4000 and i'll be there in a flash! Seems like stock is low and not sure if they will be ordering much more. JB are selling them for $5.5 but HN will sell for a little over $4.5K.

I offered $4400 and they couldn't/wouldn't do it so I walked to fight another day.

JB will price match and they have some extended warranty thrown in as well.

Yep at over 4K you'll have 3.5 years of warranty. Unlike those HN dorks. But the tv would have to be a special order via JB so pricing may not be that sweet. Despite others suggesting that we price match. This would have to be checked.

Don't AMEX double any warranty given if you buy it on their card?

I know that if your purchase on a Coles Mastercard and there is a sudden price drop of the item you purchased, you can claim a reimbursement of the price difference.

Well. I stand corrected. 5k is not unreasonable either however it's right at the Oled price point. I reckon this could be bargained down too. Very nice. Thanks mate. M

That has to be or soon to be, an outgoing model unless they carry it over for this year. I work at Dandenong so there's little hope I'll ever get to see one there.

We've still got a Pioneer Kuro 50" and it is such a magnificent TV.  We bought one of the last ones JB had in NSW then no more. I can't remember the model number.

I have been shopping around for another tele (different room) and there are some really nice TVs on the market but there is just something so natural about the Kuro (perhaps something to do with the brightness and contrast settings all set to 11 in the stores).

Funny story - I took it into a repair shop a year ago because of an odd random crackling sound behind the panel on startup, nothing wrong with the picture or sound.  The repair guy was great - he tested everything and rang me back and asked "Do you use it much?".  I replied "Not really" and he said "yeah so that's your problem".  So we started to use it more and the crackling went away...

Not missing the Kuro at all. The 2017 model LG OLED is fabulous especially with Hi Def streaming on Netflix. HD NRL is also excellent although it does really show the ABC in a very poor light. If sport and movies are your thing this TV is well worth a look.

ABC resolution isn't so sharp, and I don't know why. The signal is strong as well and no issues previously with the Kuro.

Hi all, I just acquired (no not stolen, got in from my inlaws, LOL) a Pioneer CT200 cassette deck and was wondering if they are any good and also if there is anyone in Melbourne who good give it a good once over and service. It probably needs new belts and setting back up to factory specs. Look forward to your advice.

      Item: Pioneer SX-5590 a.k.a. SX-1250
      Location: Mooroolbark
      Price: $1750
      Item Condition: used 7/10
Reason for selling: not being used
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
      Extra Info:

decided to move on my Pioneer SX-5590. Exactly the same as the SX-1250 but with the black faceplate and box.

Cosmetically amp would be a 7/10 with a few marks here and there. Please refer to photos for better description.

Everything works as it should with all lights working.

Amp is in original condition (other than the volume knob) and still sounds very strong. I have been using it with my Pioneer DSS-7 speakers and the volume doesn't go past 4 out of 10

Happy to demo for those interested and also have the facility to package if needed. Amp weights about 30kg shipping would be around $70-$90 Aust wide

Item: Pioneer PLX1000 Professional Turntable (No Cartridge)
      Location: Williamstown 3016
Price: Sold awaiting pickup $550 (Retails for $899)
      Item Condition: 9.5/10
      Reason for selling: NLR
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: I was curious about this turntable after reading some early reviews about it... bought it off a previous owner who hardly used it, or was aware of its quality. f you haven't read all the fuss about this turntable, then you should go and do yourself a favour... really puts to shame what traditional audio manufacturers put out there as budget turntables. I have never seen or used such a well put together turntable for under a couple of grand. And how does it sound and work? Well it puts a smile on my face. Everything works smoothly and efficiently, the outcome of a well designed product. The way that VTA adjustment is done on this turntable is just a delight - what can't more turntable manufacturers design their turntables this way?!! No fiddling with belts. Speed change - tap a button. Platter starts and stops almost instantly at the touch of a button. All the buttons and dials work like expensive switches and dials, not the feel of a budget turntable. This turntable feels and looks like a luxury product.

Ease of use and haptics is high with this turntable. I had questions about a removable head shell and how it would affect the sound. Well it doesn't seem to be a problem, and I didn't realise how easy and how much I would enjoy swapping over cartridges.

And the sound? Well it just propels forward with an enthusiasm that is infectious. Listening to a broad spectrum of music with this turntable draws you in like nothing at this level has a right to. This turntable makes everything sound good. I am seriously questioning whether I want to sell this turntable, so grab it quick before I change my mind! It's basically in new condition for $350 off the retail price! You can only tell its not new buy the slight cleaning swirls on the perspex cover, otherwise this turntable is in perfect condition.

I cant give this turntable any higher praise than Herb Reichert from Stereophile...

"Yes, people, the Pioneer PLX-1000 plays music like a high-torque direct-drive record-playing machine. That is why I enjoyed it so much. It gave tangible force and soulful energy to pop, R&B, jazz, and electronica. Belts can't touch the PLX-1000's excitement, naturally formed detail, and clearly expressed forward momentum. And who could have imagined? This new Pioneer also showcases the complex tonal character and elegant structures of classical music better than any affordable belt-drive I've experienced. So...

That's me you see, standing on my Bed-Stuy stoop, waving my hands and entreating you: "Give up your prejudices! You have nothing to lose but your dried-out ol' rubber bands!" Pioneer's new PLX-1000 is not only a worthy successor to the legendary Technics SL-1200MK2, it is a serious contender for the best audiophile-grade turntable for less than $2000. Unabashedly recommended."

I have all original accessories, instruction manual and box. Happy to send at buyers expense and risk. I'll include the Shure cartridge - basically the other owner threw it in - but I spotted that the stylus was bent so you should change the stylus if you want to use it, which would be a cheap replacement. But this deck really deserves a better cartridge, something like a Garrott Brothers P77 I would suggest!
