Vinyl - Currently Spinning

Recommended Posts

After talking about how awful my EU pressing of Purple Rain was, I was curious to hear Brothers in Arms which was also gifted to me.  Also an EU pressing.  Says mastered from the original analogue/digital recordings and to be honest after Prince I was skeptical.

I was pleasantly surprised.  Reasonably low noise floor, good SQ.  So yes there's now two EU based reissues I have which I rate.  This one just added, and Steely Dan - Aja.

Edit:  Yes I know MFSL pressings are going to be better - don't rub it in haha!

... and this will close the session of my live music listening for today...

Led Zep 1969... a band at the height of their powers, quite an intimate recording, Plants voice great and the band really rocking some blues favourites like “You shook Me” and “I can’t quit you Baby” by Willie Dixon.

If you don't have this album at all, I recommend getting it as I think it is one of the best "Greatest Hits" albums there is with not one bad track. I love this album and have several versions on CD and now two version on Vinyl. It never gets tired or old.

And if you want to round it up with some ballads - Madonna's "Something to Remember" is an awesome addition too.

(There are a lot of tracks each side of "Something to Remember", but I think it sounds fine as it is mainly ballads & sounds good to me - my copy was flawless)

Actually, this is the one I need. I remember these two compilations and I want the one that has Take a Bow her voice and the musical arrangements are great.

Britney Spears

Britney Jean

LTD Edition

US

2020

Not her best album but controversial all the same due to the fact of Katy Perry & Sia's involvement and shadows of doubt over how much her backing singer may have actually sang on this as she was on so many of the demos. Happy to have it though as a completist.

From the vault LP #41

Second LP of the trio by Santana

This album has a serenity about it that is just beautiful to the ears

An overall band melding that is not dominated by the guitar of Carlos
Some beautiful soulful moments on this album

Artist - Santana

Title - Welcome
