Time for some amazing Prog again

Some say that this album was the pinnacle of this band before the slow breakup

Although the artists themselves are divided - based on a documentary I have recently seen

So you decide for yourself either to like it or not

Artist - Genesis

Title - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

8744459-D-EFAD-4-E45-91-F0-0290-FDAA6480

Another essential album from Genesis. Hard to go wrong with this one having so many excellent songs.

a few from the listening session yesterday with @Doppelganger  A few double ups from Thursday which I wont list below (Sinatra at the Sands, Ben Harper Lifeline, Bouke Zoete, Beatles Blue album)

The Shaolin Afronauts - wow, what a record.  One very dynamic pressing if you can get your hands on it.

Willie Nelson singing Sinatra was very good.  Great SQ for a standard release.

I don't have this on vinyl @scuzzii but it is on high rotation via Tidal here along with his latest album 'First Rose Of Spring.' There's a good story too behind the 'Don't Let The Old Man In' track, which was written by Toby Keith for Clint Eastwood.:thumb:

Yep, that's the story behind the track that Toby Keith wrote. His version is also very good and South African country singer, Lance James, also does a very good job with it too.

Cheers,

Keith

That’s a nice song

But reading the story on how and why it was created was also a great read

Yeah, isn't it a great line, "Ask yourself how old you'd be if you didn't know the day you were born."

Have had this LP since mid-70's, just found out its a UK first pressing. Will revisit title track, "Layla" again and see if Duane Allman's guitar work sounds any different to how I remember it!

Still on the blues trail, T Bone Walker Blues Band - Live from Montreux recorded at 1972 Montreux Jazz Festival. His composition, "Call it Stormy Monday" has been covered by numerous artistes, a classic indeed.

Ever look at your records and think "what one will I play?????"

Sometimes too many choices.....

Anyway, being a late Sunday Arvo I decided to pull out this one:

Roy Oribison

Rare Orbison

1989

Australia

NM Promo Copy

Love it that the song Today's Teardrops is pretty much like Buddy Hollys "Oh Boy" !!

Guess they did not sue each others butts back then for copyright like they do now eh 🤣

Lots of Classic Prog here lately.

Tonight I'm spinning Rush - Grace Under Pressure. An original 84 pressing in amazing condition.

One of my all time favourite rush albums. Amazing synth basslines, great recording quality, huge sound and some powerful lyrics by the legendary Neil Peart.

One thing I have learnt is that it doesn’t matter how good your arm TT or cartridge is, if you’re phono stage isn’t up to the task you are wasting money and forever chopping and changing.

This was already a great phono stage but this version has a much more natural and warm presentation. It bested my valve phono stages by a considerable amount.

      It has XLR out too!

I am actually really reluctant to sell this out of all the items I listed. It can get the most out of ANY cartridge hooked up to it.

      I have all boxes etc.
