So while the record was playing did you pretend you had a dance partner and danced around the room?  Remember the moves? :)

Wow you are a mind reader

Yes I was dancing in step and loved it

You may think it’s a bit of a turnaround - but variety is the spice of life
I might look into some T Rex

I thought Colour My World was a must on any ballroom dancing ;)

Have a look at part of my Ballroom dancing LP collection

I sometimes use these as test LPs as they are time perfect and pitch perfect

Actually Keith l loved his American Series, especially no lll and lV. The songs The Mercy Seat and Hurt are my favourite tracks.?

Hello Ken, I guess you must have confused me with your comment in an earlier post when you said,"Country music mate, rather poke my eyes out with a burnt stick. Up there with my other 3 no's; death metal, rap and R & B."

The American Series of recordings Cash did was good in so much as it did get him back into recording again and Rick Rubin really did a pretty good job. I thought many of the covers Cash did worked well, but others not so much and he probably would have been better to have left many of them alone. You say you liked III and IV yet they would probably be my least favourite albums out of the series. They released V and VI posthumously and although they probably should have stopped at IV, I reckon those last two albums were better than the previous two. For me, the first American Recordings album was by far the best of the series and it was just Cash's glorious voice and an acoustic guitar and unfortunately the rest in the series never really lived up to level of the first one..............IMO of course.:winky:

Cheers,

Keith

Which table sounds better JJ?

Some similarities, some different, the EAT with same cartridge and rest of the system the same is much better for rock and 'more complex' music. The Avid in the same system and cartridge is, to me, better sounding for ambient, and electronic music.

Currently listening to My Squelchy Life, Brian Eno

Hi All,

Dire Straits Brothers In Arms, just the plain, bog standard Australian release

Is it just the photo or do you need to have a look at the azimuth on that cartridge, Janjuc?

Cheers,

Keith

Hi @cheekyboy

Just the photo, in reality the edge of the album is parallel with the shelf in the back, and the platform and platter are also angled for some reason the phone's camera tends to angle close things towards the bottom, but it is a phone, not a camera.

This picture shows how the top comes out wider looking than the bottom.

I think they call that parallax error. You get the same distortion when you look up at a tall building from ground level.

The top tapers off to nothing, (well theoretically at least).....

You get the same effect looking at really, really, really, really tall people or so I am told.

Yeah I know! However If Brothes is your favourite album you absolutely must own it. Wait till you hear the bass and loud... I was lucky to get a NM copy for AUD $90 two years ago after about 5 years of keeping an eye on this pressing.

However, $90 doesn’t feel too much now since I paid $87 for the Let’s Rock 45 rpm just two weeks ago.? Probably more from overseas due to  high shipping fees.
